While there has been alot of Cobra figures, a large number of them have been exclusive to certain stores or event repaints. At retail the line feels much more balanced.
Joes. 1. Duke 2. Scarlett 3. Roadblock 4. Snake Eyes 5. Flint 6. Lady Jaye 7. Movie Scarlett 8. Movie Snake Eyes 9. Spirit 10. Snake Eyes and Timber 11. Movie Akiko Known but announced Joes: 12. Stalker 13. Dusty Retail Repaints of Joes: 14. Field Variant Duke 15. Field Variant Scarlett 16. File Variant Snake Eyes 17. Field Variant Roadblock Cobra: 1. Destro 2. Cobra Commander 3. Zartan 4. Cobra Infantry 5. Movie Storm Shadow 6. Movie Baroness 7. Croc Master and Alligator 8. Storm Shadow 9. Cobra Officer 10. Red Ninja 11. Alley Viper 12. Bat Known but not announced Cobras: 13. Xomat 14. Tomax 15. Crimson Guard 16. Zarana So when we look at what is just going to general retail and toss out Target exclusives or Pulse repaints the Joes actually outnumber Cobra at retail. It'd be great to get more unique Joes, but for a line that was mostly treading water until it could release two waves of movie, it did pretty well. Even then let's go ahead and add in the Target figures: Joes: 18. Beachead 19. CI Roadblock 20. Breaker and Ram Cycle 21. Barbecue 22. TF Outback Cobra: 17. Trooper 18. Baroness and Coil Cycle 19. Firefly 20. Viper 21. Major Bludd 22. PP Viper 23. PP BAT This is when Cobra surpasses Joes, but it only does this because of Python Patrol and Tiger force. There's a good chance that the next wave might have more Tiger Force than Python Patrol, so hard to really say just one wave into a new subline. Remember Joes really outnumbered Cobra early in the line. Then there's the whole other argument that Hasbro might consider the Dreadnocks and Arashikage as separate groups from Cobra when it comes to balancing the line. Edit: Forgot Pimp Daddy Destro was a quasi retail release, Also wasn't he originally a convention exclusive that got shifted around because of Covid?

I think that actually sums up one of the big issues - about 25% of the Joes available at retail, counting the field variants, are Snake Eyes figures. Which isn't exactly ABNORMAL for a Joe line (weren't we getting one SE per wave during the PoC era?), but it's more noticeable when it's 4/17 (counting the field variants to be super-generous) as opposed to, say, 8/34. And especially so for those of us who are satisfied with one, maybe two, versions of any specific character.
(And you left out the first SE with the weapons rack.) |

I think the “pet” listing is just the SKU and it won’t be a figure and animal. It will actually be the rumoured/leaked Viper/Viper Officer 2 pack.
The packaging for Snake Eyes & Timber/Croc Master would be the same size as a 2 figures therefore it can come under the same SKU |

Oh man I forgot about Gung Ho! Further proves my point that the line is more even for general release figures!
