I was going to send mine back but 3 things stopped me - I was able to find a fix from a fellow tanker here, Hasbro wanted me to send everything back - not just the jet and the fact that I might just get another with the same issues. Seems like you confirmed that for me. I am happy with the fix so I have moved on and am happy with the Sky Striker. I do agree though that the quality control was lacking for what should have been a premium product.

I finally opened up a couple of my other Skystrikers. I'm keeping two and was going thinking of selling the other three. I opened my second one, everything was okay. Not perfect, makes me wish I had saved the figures from the first one I opened back in January. Those cards were perfect. Anyhow, they ain't bad. I thought I would open up another and see if they have better cards. That was a mistake. The cardbacks look awful, lots of dents and dings. Some have lines pressed into them. The front of the cards look scuffed up, almost like someone rubbed them with sandpaper or something. It's odd.

The second Skystriker, the gear a lot looser. It'll drop with the slightest touch, and it's missing all of the sticker sheets and instructions. The third Skystriker the front gear won't stay up at all, just flops no matter what. I'm going to give Hasbro a call on Monday and see if they are still doing replacements.

I really should have done this back in January.

Forgive me for not reading through all of the previous posts, has anyone mentioned that the right wing (with the '100' on it) is a lighter shade of grey compared to the swiveling piece it snaps into? I returned me entire set in the hopes it was a one off mistake, and my second SS has the exact same mismatched shade of grey. For how much money this set cost, it's inexcusable to have a shoddy issue like this.

Question, so I want to take mine apart, but the nose won't budge. Is that just glue or is it something else? I am wondering if that small circular cover piece has something to do with it or if it's just glue like the back.

Also, any ideas on removing the pre-applied deco? I want it to look like a legit F-14 and not so much a toy

In two pics of mine I can kind of see what you're talking about, but barely. Hadn't noticed it before, it's very slight. Tho to the naked eye in natural light it isn't really noticeable to me. Maybe it's your lighting? Is it under or near fluorescents? That tends to accentuate minor hue variants.

Has anyone received their replacement Fail-Safe? I was told on 3/9 that I was going to receive one between 7-10 days, and today still no news at all.

i was told same thing. still havent gotten mine yet. i got the broken Chair already but not the figure yet.

I sent an email to them on Monday, and got an answer yesterday - they told me that they have the figure and it is packaged - just not sent yet. Still waiting for the shipping email confirmation...

Picked up a secondary large drop tank off of ebay, which I think helps obscure the mounting slots quite nicely, and gives that extra bit of loadout heft that I'm all about. Love the variabilities built into this toy.
