I’ll be interested to see if mine has any QC issues. That is, if it ever shows up.

It seems like the damage happened prior to shipping, maybe during the process of putting them into their cardboard slits. |

here are some pictures of the issues with the figures. there's more but these are just some examples
https://imgur.com/a/qhEX35j I haven't really looked at the skystrikers yet. I mainly backed this for the figures and was planning on selling the jets. what are some issues others have found that I should be watching out for? The Scarlett elbow is the worst of the bunch and definitely warrants some action from Hasbro. but I'm laughing at the "gotta pee" Wayne Ruthel variant |

it all appears to have happened in factory before ever being packed. no way the cardboard slits did this, the damage would've been at the top of the card. maybe the creasing could have happened from that, but not the tears or in package breaks/deformities. i'm trying to decide the best way to go about contacting hasbro. I counted a total of 8 defective figures out of 21, and that's if I look past the minor stuff

Got mine in on Saturday. Took a few minutes to open it up and look to see that everything was there, but as I have nowhere to display it right now, it's staying boxed for the time being.
The only things that disappoint me about this set (and I get why Hasbro did it this way) are: 1.) It should have been Airborne instead of Ripcord. Maybe it was just because of the original toy commercial, but Airborne was always the co-pilot whenever my brother and I would play with his Skystriker. Airborne wasn't even a character in the show or toy line yet when the original toy was released. 2.) Ace looking like an astronaut instead of a fighter pilot, as he correctly did in the cartoon. I know they went with the original toy look on purpose, but it always bugged me, even as a kid, that Ace had a space helmet instead of goggles and a breathing mask. I feel that was a missed opportunity here, even to include it as a separate figure for one of the tiers. Last edited by tagmac; 01-30-2023 at 03:01 PM.. |

Heard back from Pulse about my missing sticker sheet.
They are expecting new parts soon and an order is in for a replacement. |

WELL the Skystriker was long destroyed by my older brothers before I came onto the scene, and then I never owned one. So this Skystriker will not only be my first, but the Haslab promo and the random ad that popped up on my FB feed, is the trigger that lead me down this path of learning O-Rings were still being made, and that some were made after the 90s when I was a kid, and that there is this whole 1:18 world, and places like HISSTANK, where there are other people that have the same "Nostalgic Strings" tugged upon when they see GI Joe. So I am beyond excited to get them in my hands. I am truly coming full circle from someone that was totally not a collector, to:
1. Seeing the Haslab ad pop up on FB 2. Backing kickstarter and discovering GI Joe Classified 3. Buying 1:12 scale to HODL collect for my son, and to gift them to my nephews. 4. Growing to dislike 1:12 scale because my young kids can't manipulate them, realizing its more of an adult / young adult collector scene than young kids. 5. Selling the 1:12 and going all in on 1:18 and o-ring (roboskull, marauders vietnam, operation recall, callsign longbow, trolling around ebay for sealed figs) I originally got one to "share" with my kids, one to sell. The o-rings I've gotten since backing the kickstarter get played with daily, and I have 3 kids, so instead there will be 1 that I open immediately, and one that I stash for when they are older and if they continue to appreciate GI Joe, we will open it down the line instead of selling. This went longer than I wanted, but I wish Hasbro was clearer about what the rest of their o-ring plans were for 2022 when this was announced. I would have backed 5 of these and saved them to give to nephews etc for Christmas. It is basically a "wave" of figures to enjoy and play with the Skystriker - the releases outside of it were pretty slim overall. I guess what I am saying is - the product by itself would rot on the shelf because I don't think many parents want to drop 220 on their kids first GI Joe set (Jet + accessories + figures) when walking around Walmart. But - you could argue that if they worked on the price a tiny bit and removed the "exclusive" FOMO aspect from the pricing, this would be a great set to get kids hooked on GI Joe. I will let you know how it goes with my kids as my daughter was using the Aliens HIYA APC as a Cobra Trooper transporter and explaining how they were "the bad guys" and used the vehicle to collect data and fight "the good guys". She's into it because I'm into it, but it sucks how niche this hobby is right now. A true luxury from the cost and effort to keep up with o-rings. Cool to hear. Thanks for sharing your experience.
