Right - in fairness, we're not seeing these on our doorsteps for another 14 months or so (give or take). Speaking for myself, an update once per quarter is perhaps all I'm expecting.
w/r/t this specific thing, they showed us the filecard *on* the stream, it's been posted in this thread. I'm not sure why "I didn't get this thing I've already seen in my email inbox so now I'm mad at Hasbro" strikes me as such a juvenile complaint.

There was dude on eBay a bit ago trying to sell a graded 84 SS for over $10k but the fig was severely yellowed and had elbow cracks. |

Anyone still think the Cobra Hack thing was done at the last minute or was actually planned from the get go? I love the idea of more figures being added but I think that was kind of a desperate way of getting more backers. Though it did work.

I can't speak to any crowdfund plans, but I imagine that their structures are planned out and include contingencies like this. Compare it to the ghostbusters proton pack, which blasted through all stretch goals - they still added more later. Gotta juice it for all it's worth.

I posted my theory about it many, many pages ago, but I'll restate here. I think that the Cobra Hack was always planned to be a late stretch goal addition. The quality of the promotional materials was just way too good to be thrown together last minute. When the Haslab Rancor looked like it was in trouble, the Powers That Be (whether Hasbro corporate or the GI Joe Brand team itself) changed the Cobra Hack to be in the base package. They did NOT want to have two Haslab campaigns fail at the same time, so juicing the GI Joe one with the already-planned Cobra stuff was a safe move to make.

We live in a time where people are addicted to instant novelty? you swipe your screen on social media and you have 50 new images or pages, and the content is not so much as important as the experience of constantly getting something new and different. I feel that this plays into the Haslabs. Had Hasbro just laid everything on the table, I?m sure they would have gotten a lot of backers, but not as many as they ended up with by introducing additional items, cause each add ons brought new novelty to the project, so as much as I feel it?s about the perception of value for money, it?s also about refreshing the project to maintain and develop interest. I believe these additions were always a part of the plan if there weren?t enough backers to begin with.

Oh lord. I don't think haters like Retroblasting are having any impact on sales. Anyone who buys into his nonsense was never going to buy a Skystriker in the first place.
He is trying to "send a message" to Hasbro to stop the Haslab program as a whole. It's insane and juvenile. These are toys afterall. Most of us who still have a connection to sanity don't see a real difference between buying something through Haslab, preordering it, or buying off the shelf. We simply buy what we want and pass on what we don't want. |
