I honestly think if they offered another vehicle included in this project with Skystriker it would push it over. As it is now, I know personally, I can do without the flight crew.I will only fund if both Scarlet and Ripcord are included with it.
I think if Haslab did something more Haslab worthy like the shuttle or Flagg, this would be well over by now. |

I was expecting it to be over 8000 last night. We are still 100 away from even that mark. Going to be an interesting 16 hours...

According to Thomas over at Jedi Temple Archives, one of the admins, he said that he does not know where this idea came from about a large increase in backers all at once on the last day for international orders. He has followed all the HasLabs closely and stated this had NEVER happened. It also did NOT happen with the Rancor. He stated that the numbers are updated daily so the international numbers are already counted there.
So don't count on some large jump in backers all at once today. This just needs to fund from a bunch of people at the last minute. Hopefully it can. I am still going to be pissed if we don't get those ground crew guys. Who the hell is going to operate the tractor if we don't get them? 1. Last day surges on crowdfunding projects are absolutely a thing. Thomas seems like he's either being disingenuous or simply hasn't paid attention to crowdfunding projects in the past if he can't fathom why people might think there could be a last day surge. 2. The "International numbers" thing seems to be a misinterpretation of what Hasbro has said in the past, which is that international numbers are usually manually added at the end of the day or the day after. They do, however, update it daily, not all at the end. Where the "last day surge" comes from is often a combo of FOMO last-minute buyers, folks who already pledged ordering extras either for resale or "one in, one out" and e-tailers/resellers putting in their large(r) orders from having taken preorders on stuff for the duration of the campaign. I don't think it's ever been strictly "international buyers." Last-day surges also tend to be relegated to projects that have either already funded or are very close to funding by the last 24 hours (as you're not likely to get a huge rush of e-tailer orders for something that doesn't have enough demand to get over the finish line in the first place). The Rancor died. Here’s hoping some of those guys now have a desire to back the Skystriker. I also hope Hasbro is learning how to price these things, because the Rancor was ridiculously expensive for what it was. It is not Hasbro’s place to get a bigger share of the prices being realized in the secondary market. Just make the toys at a price that yields adequate profit margins and let the secondary sellers do their thing. Taking a bigger piece by making the initial buy-in more expensive only serves to discourage those who invest in such projects.

Agree too. Yep since we need numbers and more people to even fund this project the more the merrier. Where are all those scalper bitches at that were cleaning out the Classified figures? Come scalp away here on this HasLab all you want! LOL!
Like some others said there might be less of an incentive for scalping a HasLab because anyone who wants one can easily order one. Afterward it would only be people who for some reason missed out on the pre-order. Not everyone knows about HasLab, or may find out about HasLab too late. Then they may see an item later and be like, "I need this". Or maybe they didn't have money at the time or were on the fence and resorted to eBay later. Whatever the case people are making money on these. And they did their part to help it fund for those who plan on keeping. |

Or they're just that kind of person. You know your friends who, when you tell them you're having a party at 8:00 at your place, start getting ready around 9:15? Yeah, those people. Quote:

Hasbro has a built in ?excuse? because of the genius decision to run three concurrent Haslabs mere months after running two others and weeks before Christmas. It?s just too much. Given how close it came, if they gave the Rancor it?s on space it would?ve funded.
I?d say moving forward you can only sustain 1 Haslab per quarter. The Rancor is fascinating in that Hasbro (the corporation, not the SW team) managed to disappoint and anger/upset *every* possible consumer in the last 7 weeks with this HasLab. Wasted time, wasted labor, and it ends with a whimper and (again) zero messaging. Just "minimum number not met? Get bent" silence and cancelations en masse. I'll beat the messaging drum until the end of time, and Hasbro stepped on rakes it laid down itself the entire Rancor period. Quote:
Except it absolutely happened for the Marvel Legends Haslabs and the Transformers Haslabs, LOL!
If anything if there isn't an international demand that ends up bumping this past the minimum funding then it only means that there wasn't that much demand for this at all domestically or international. You really going to try to deny that guys like Takara Tomy selling the Haslab stuff on Takara-Tomy Mall in Japan DIDN'T have a huge bump increasing Unicron and Victory Saber numbers? It's clear the numbers are *all* captured real time, or they're tabulated as part of the final day ramp up (we're mistaking seeing jumps of 100+ in a few minutes as excited consumers, and not the orders from Singapore). The thing you touted may have happened in the past, but it ain't happening today. Rancor showed us that.

So there are two things at play here:
LOL. If they had offered a Flagg or the Defiant it would likely not even be halfway to funding, as it would have been the most expensive HasLab project ever, at a minimum of $700 and possibly as high as $1K+ apiece. I do think this project was a bit of an oddball in that there's no ongoing line that it's supporting, but trying to toss out an absolutely massive project straight out of the gate would have been even worse for them. I would absolutely love a HasLab Flagg, Defiant or Terrordrome. But I don't know if it's possible, too many Joe collectors are cheap. Real cheap. It's been like this since the YoJoe forum days when Hisstank didn't even exist.

^ I would as well, but the buying base is nowhere near big enough for those bad boys.
