It's the same effect using plain water has on waterslide decals (though better methods exist for those now, with Micro-sol and Micro-set). Last edited by BizCopperhead; 02-01-2023 at 08:36 PM.. |

You can find PTE aircraft ladders on ebay. They're not as nice, but they work.

On the stickers thing - for the love of pete, use tweezers. I may be a pretty good piano player, but even then my hands aren't steady enough to apply things properly. I got a (frankly dangerous) pair of tweezers with a Gundam kit for like $10 on Amazon a while back and I've used them for all stickers since, even really finnicky stuff like some Transformers upgrade sets.

I have both an FDM and 4k resin printer and resin wash station, but haven't had time to learn the ins and outs of the resin setup yet. What we really need are more people interested in printing stuff in 1:18 scale to step up and help other folks scared of the technology to get into it. It's a fun side hobby that ties nicely into what we're already doing with shelf dioramas, and helps get us away from being a "slave" to the companies like MC Toy who are basically the only ones making 1:18 accessories other than a handful of cottage companies. |

Does this stuff not exist for scale modelers? A lot of 3d-printable greebles meant for military scale modelers would work if scaled up to 1:18.

Spray your Skystriker with a solution of 5% dish soap to water and apply the decals, using some kind of rubber tool as a squeegee. It's a lot easier to straighten them.

3d printing is easy, design is hard. Resin is f*****g messy but preferred for a variety of reasons.
