I’ll be honest. Getting Joe away from Paramount would be a great move. Not that there’s any studio who could do better with it. None of them would be willing to treat it with any respect, and there are very few in Hollywood at all who would.

chasing the next trend... Only problem is if everyone has a platform no1 is going to sub to everyone and pay their TV/Internet on top of it.

Netflix doesn't make money yet and all these jumping on the bandwagon its going to end well lol.

You'll notice that the entertainment industry has become an oligarchy (like every other industry) and just about every streaming service (besides netflix, apple and amazon) is owned by a larger media entity that also owns a major studio, numerous cable channels and American TV network. Disney owns ABC, NBCUniversal is (duh) Universal and NBC, and Paramount is owned by ViacomCBS. There's also WarnerMedia with HBO and the CW. Fox is an outlier. Both Amazon and Apple have been looking to buy a studio for awhile, with Amazon buying MGM recently (even though MGM hasn't been a major studio for some time), and rumors persist of Apple throwing a bunch of cash at Sony Corp in a possible hostile takeover, which would give Apple Sony Pictures (Columbia, etc). There are two big reasons for owning a major (or minor) studio: their content (decades of it) and traditional film distribution infrastructure.

Why am I stating all this? Just to point out that these conglomerates are trying to cover their bases for whichever direction the entertainment biz goes.

Agreed, but ... much of Hasbro works better as animation/illustration simply because reality hasn't caught up to the imagination, and being true to the concept simply isn't feasible or affordable.

Uh, did you forget Fox was bought by Disney?

The thing is, from a business perspective it makes sense for networks/studios to have their own streaming service: you get all the subscriber money, not another company, like Netflix or Amazon. That's just good business.
