I challenge anyone to come up with a better Haslab vehicle then the Skycrane. Its a never done before Icon, carries troops, can "fly", and could easily suffice as the only vehicle in anyone's collection.
Stretch goals could be different types of cargo bays, or window machine guns, mounted rockets, air troopers, maybe para vipers, or any niche character we don't have (Apples, Candy maybe, etc). |

The HISS Tank is the most popular G.I. Joe vehicle and is always the first big vehicle we receive outside of the RAM Cycle or AWE Striker. The question is, why does it need to be a HASLAB project? I can't see it costing more than a Titan Class Transformer at $170.

Correct. I thought the purpose of these HasLab projects was to bring about lager scale vehicles and playsets. GI Joe Headquarters, Defiant, Mobile Command Center, Terrordrome, Cobra Mountain and other on that scale would make more sense in justifying it to be a HasLab project.

I mean, this thread is called Classified Series HasLab. People are complaining about vehicles that have been done, but they haven’t been done in this scale. The scale matters. I don’t think we’ll ever see anything Joe in this scale on the shelves bigger than the Ferret or Battle Bear. If that. Getting a Stinger/Vamp or Hiss, etc is kind of a big deal, imo. Joe isn’t anywhere near as strong of a brand as Star Wars or Marvel. They put out any of my favorite classic vehicles in Classified scale and I’d be in on the line. I haven’t dove in yet because I’m waiting to see if it’s got real legs. I’m still reeling from starting a Sideshow collection and them abandoning it before we got classic troop builders like BATs, Snow Serpents and EELs.

Just a case in point I remember seeing this at TRU back in the early 2000s. When the 12 inch figures were around. I was so pissed that Hasbro made a 12 inch scale dune buggy but didn’t make a 12 inch scale land speeder. If Hasbro could make a 12 inch scale dune buggy they can sure as hell make a 6 inch scale Awe striker.

The HISS can’t be the choice foe a Haslab project. It’s sounds like a majority are voting on what they think they will get, not what they truly want. VAMP, Stinger or even the Thunder Machine would not be hard for Hasbro to make in this scale. Even those shouldn’t be Haslab, but are better than a HISS Tank. Stop make concessions to Hasbro and giving them easy passes. Also, quit under valuing Gi Joe in comparison to Star Wars or Transformers. The last time I checked, Star Wars has about a third of the figures made in the Joe line and even less vehicles. Yes, they have 9 movies, only three if you count the ones that didn’t suck, and a larger fanbase…but Joe is an in house brand, not a Kenner leftover or Takara reject…so stop being apologetic about Joe and making it lesser than. SW got their support, so did Marvel and TF. It’s Joe’s turn!

I’m being conservative with my wishes here, since I’m not confident we’ll get anything bigger than the RAM at retail. Once I see a HISS, VAMP/Stinger, or a Thunder Machine, then I’ll dare to dream big.
But I’ll take the time to say it here again, I want Action Fleet (1/72 scale or 1/4 scale to the toys) sized G.I. Joe & MASK vehicles. I figure this is the best way to get some of the bigger dream vehicles. Last edited by txbart; 08-08-2021 at 09:03 AM.. |
