Hey Destro,
Do you have any knowledge of the POC molds from China? Are these molds destroyed? Will we ever see POC build ME figures released by Hasbro again? Chris on the Full Force Weekly didn't say it, but hinted that the ME figure molds from China cannot be used anymore. Is this true? I just want to know if we will ever have a chance of seeing a CV figure. Like a CV Tele-Viper, or CV Stinger Driver, using those POC parts. Thanks.

I have mixed feels on this year in G.I. Joe.
The film I liked the film...it was a damn sight better than the last two. 6" Scale I'm out on Classified product. For a few reasons... -scale...their nice...really nice, but I've been a 1:18 scale collector since 82 (longer if you count SW figures). I'm just not starting my collection over (again if you count the upgrade to modern figure molds) to the 6" scale. -availability...I swear I have dozens of Targets and Walmarts with in an hours drive time. And have seen exactly ONE Roadblock...ONCE. Outside of that I have seen them in specialty stores like collectible shops for twice (or more) the regular retail price. -vehicles...while this scale is cool...vehicles are simply a bitch for them. ...so no thanks to this scale...if you like it great, if it sells and keeps the brand alive great...if it give my scale a boost even better. Retro Availability again has been a bitch for me. At retail I have seen The HISS, the AWE Striker...and Stalker that's it. Any of the other single figures has been thru Walmart's site (I nabbed Scarlett, RB and the FANG) and the Trooper thru ebay. The rest...nadda. And frankly the redesign on the FANG pilot, the Trooper and Stalker is less than great, with rubbery gear. So while I HOPE this year gets better (lets face it its a better year than others)...its not exactly been the improvement I wanted. |

I haven’t logged on to post in years. Fan since 1982. I’m 44 years old. This was not Snake Eyes. I liked the prior 2 movies better. It’s that bad. Click the above link and this YouTube reviewer is spot on. |

The best thing fans can do is dissent when a franchise is going wrong. Dissent is patriotic. "My franchise right or wrong" isn't a healthy or productive attitude. Denial's not just a river in Egypt.
When Batman & Robin came out, should Batman fans have rallied each other to see it and support it so we could get more Batman movies and merchandise? Clearly, the best thing to do was to let it crash and burn. Then the studio took a different approach, hired different people and did Batman Begins 8 years later. Similarly, fans let the female Ghostbusters movie die and lose millions of dollars. Now we're getting the movie we wanted, with the original characters back. Quote:
We haven't seen Ghostbusters yet but it's an in-continuity sequel, not a reboot, which was far and away the main complaint of the female Ghostbusters movie. My only point is fans can boycott a movie and force the studio to back off that failed movie, hire different people and take a more fan-based approach. All I know is I had no desire to see GB16 and never have, but I am excited to see this new one because it's set in the real Ghostbusters universe, the original director and his son are making it, and it will have parts for most of the old characters.

On opening day of this new G.I. Joe movie I went out of my way and hit up a few Targets and Walmarts just to see what was in stores on the shelves on opening day. Needless to say but there was NOTHING. All the stores looked how they have looked for over a year now. Same TWO empty pegs at Targets and a few more empty ones at Walmarts. So this blows up the whole theory or excuse that they were holding back product for the movie release in stateside warehouses and there would be SEVERAL FEET of G.I. Joe product on shelves at retail stores come movie time. Nothing has changed retail store wise. G.I. Joe's presence in retail stores is nothing and is still a joke and they have a movie in theaters. How is someone not fired for that?
The new MOTU series also came out today and I found MANY MOTU figures, including new Revelation ones and Target EXCLUSIVES, at both Target and Walmart. So somehow Mattel got it done. I am also surprised there was not more Classified product announced and put up for pre-order and delivered to homes closer to the movie coming out. I think the last thing we all ordered was back on June 17th. What new stuff did we either get or hear about THIS MONTH? What? A handful of people got Snake Eyes and Timber and they announced another Zartan (the one they should have made this first time around). I think they should have had more 6" figures for when the movie hit theaters. It does seem that Hasbro is at least listening to fans as they have made changes. It has been easier to order things online recently. But holy sh_t they took too long to make these changes. Even someone that used to work at Hasbro said they took too long. I hope being able to easily order stuff online continues. I wonder though if we will ever see a bigger presence though at retail brick and mortar stores? P.S. A longshoreman does NOT work on a ship or go out to sea. They are the guys who work on the docks loading and unloading the ships. |

I can't prove to you in anyway that this story is true and I'm not name dropping. Also we were never told what molds were kept and what got destroyed. Chris was at Hascon with "us" and potentially heard the same story.

Around the time of HasCon or just before it I should say, something happened or somebody at Hasbro for "reasons" gave the order 66 to clean up old molds that they had "no intensions" of using again. Someone was specifically sent to wherever those molds were kept (China?) to tag what Hasbro was going to keep and the rest went the way of the Jedi.

Out of interest I stoped at Rise of Cobra did they still go the actors/real peoples faces might be a reason instead of new head molds just trash it all :S Last edited by Tony_Bacala; 07-24-2021 at 08:56 PM.. |

The movie was really good. I want to hear the opinions of people who are not fans of the franchise to see what then think.
At first I was upset at part of the plot but then later realized it was a story of redemption. I want to see it again.
