I miss that detail though. Every time I watch GI Joe or X-Men I wonder why we can’t have that style ever again.

Renegades' animation style was its biggest strength. You're not going to see that overly-detailed 80s design ever again, as it's more trouble than it's worth and leads to inconsistent animation (more of a problem with Transformers than GI Joe, admittedly, but they went cheaper with TF's animation budget).
I think it was Bruce Timm who spoke about working on 80s Joe and HATING the experience because of the unnecessary details and inability for the character models to be fluid. And then he basically drove a stake into the heart of that style with BTAS. Renegades struck much of the same fluidity / balance detail that BTAS did, I thought. It wasn't horrific like the new She-Ra or Thundercats or anything like that. |

(The designs for X-Men looked a lot better when they showed up on Spidey TAS in a more stripped-down fashion.) Last edited by GeoffDes; 02-08-2022 at 09:33 PM.. |

It's stuck in a shipping container at a port somewhere.

Resolute was the one. Aimed more towards adults, and more violent.

Resolute was great but was never meant to be anymore more than that single miniseries ("movie). Was only produced as part of the hype promotions surrounding the live action film |
