Lego won't make war toys. Company policy. Except apparently STAR Wars are fine. But you'll never see military stuff from Lego.
I'd rather see Mega Construx handle the Joe brand. Super-poseable figures with removeable gear. And solid builds (they've come a long way in the last decade or so) using interesting (ie "camo") patterns in their bricks. But of course there's a bit more sensitivity to that type of thing in Germany compared to Denmark. Lego just wants to be seen as ultra-safe. |

It's odd LEGO won't make war toys but then make all those Marvel toys featuring futuristic war designs.
I guess as long as it has some Sci-Fi elements it's A-OK in their book. |

They also still make pirate and knights sets, so it's not so much violence as contemporary violence, and specifically contemporary guns (since they have no issues with police sets as long as the cops don't have guns).
It's too bad, you could do, say, an F-35 without any obvious guns. There's Quintjets with missiles after all... but as you note, those drift into sci-fi. |

GIJoe Forever Clever 2022 Review:
Here's the first of the two sets I picked up yesterday from Ollie's for $15.99 Inside, it's just like last year's sets There's four bags with one set of folded instructions plus the sticker sheet There's several things I noticed with this new set, the pieces fit together much better, they're not Lego but they didn't crumble just by touching them or require glue-further in some pieces started to push out from others but did stay together There's this strange piece that was deformed but is hidden in the construction so no issue there; dumped everything out because I thought I was missing pieces... Here's the 3 figures, Wildcard's legs were on Hardball's torso but because they're the same color his skin is, it looked like he didn't have pants on so I swapped them Hair's different on this Duke in comparison to the one in the surveillance set Everything's together now, time for the stickers... Here's the finished vehicle, the circle-shaped star sticker wasn't cut so I couldn't put it on the turret Tomahawk's up next on our 2nd review... |

Poor Hit & Run, booted out for Duke. But it's not his operator position exists on the actual toy anyway.

They've used Snake-Eyes in more than one set so not surprised they used Duke more than once but it's strange he is different between sets-kind of prefer the surveillance figure more

Here's the 2nd set I put together just now, there were some hiccups so let's get onto it:
It's the same setup with four bags, one instructions, & one set of stickers-there was one more of the tiny baggies seen in other sets with Lift-Ticket's parts (head's in one of the other bags) Let's dump everything out... Here's the floor of the copter, seems ok Chairs won't stay on... OK it's kind of loose but getting through it There's basically three components you build separately then put together Everything's crumbling but I got it rebuilt, it's nowhere close to the Mean-Dog's ease of construction It's more the poor design of the build not the QC issues of the pieces OK it's together, let's put on the stickers & check the figures There's only one visor, couldn't find the second one shown on the render on the box bit I'm thinking it's not supposed to come with the 2nd on because Lifeline's is supposed to be his helmet-no visor cause he's got the sunglasses? It's cool looking but the design didn't lend well to staying together Last edited by GoodGuy9; 10-14-2022 at 02:31 AM.. |

Thanks for the pictures and review. Wow, those boxes are oversized. Guess they know why people really buy them.
Funny, I remember when it was called ....."opening" a box.
