I know one of the main guys in this - he is involved with MTF and Roboskull - and the vision / plan for the line is amazing! I cannot wait until they reveal it all. Those who were at Assembly Required in 2021 got to see some of it. I am not an o-ring guy, but love the characters and hope that if they get to making the vehicles and playsets they want to make - they scale them big enough for MTF figs. ;) I am totally planning on making custom non o-ring versions of some of their characters for sure.

New update from them.
"January is almost over so it's probably time for a Development Update on Callsign: Longbow. First things first, what we keep getting asked, "when is the Kickstarter launching?" And the answer to that is soon (we just don't know how soon). Sorry. With the rise in costs of (all kinds of) materials, we are working with our factory to get updated, more accurate costs. This is something we really need nailed down before launch so we set our funding and stretch goals properly. That said, we want to launch as soon as we reasonably can, and we are pushing to do so. Hold on a little longer. But the march to victory continues. The Kickstarter campaign is already partially built, and we are finalizing the order of our stretch goal unlocks. We have a big announcement about a partnership and a cross-over figure as part of that coming. We're really excited about this one! We're working with a classic artist who worked on much of the packaging art for G.I. Joe and other lines in the 1980s and 1990s for all new character art. This has been so much fun to work on this week and we can't wait to show you! We've been working with the team over at Broken Icon Comics on the Callsign: Longbow comic. The script is done and we've moved on to art! So we have lots more to share with you in the coming weeks. For this week we wanted to share this new cast of Lancer in more accurate colors that our good friend Raginspoon put together for us. You should see it before Troy messes it up trying to paint it. As a reminder, if you haven't yet, please like and follow us on your favorite social media platform to stay informed when we announce our launch date." I like that they're upfront about the process. I'm looking forward to this one now that I've rejoined Kickstarter. :| The rising cost of materials isn't an excuse, either. I quoted a different type of material for my work and was told by the vendor that the quote was only valid for 24-hours due to how quickly prices are changing for them. This project's creators seem to be collaborating in the right direction.

How are these going to scale against ARAH? I picked up a few Eagle Force 3 3/4 inch RIOT Comandos & compared them to an ARAH Snow Job, & they were 3/4 of a head taller.

The only other line I know of that's doing something similar is Strike Force Alpha, but a lot of those figures are just too conceptually weird for my tastes. |
