Ramen Toys who made the update Centurions has hinted they want to work on Visionaries.

After much debate, I decided to not go full in on the classifieds as my main Joe collection as I just have too many "I wish it looked just like the toon but better detailed but not too different" gripes with classifieds design choices... "Im lookin squarely at you Classified Cobra Commander mold."
So I went with the Ultimates as my main figure choices instead so I should be happier with that overall an I will just use classifieds to fill any gaps the Ultimates figures leave for me ot fill. But so far I have ordered all 3 waves of Ultimates + 3 extra of the two ultimates army builder BAT an Cobra Trooper figures. I did already buy the Classified Croc Master; a personal childhood favorite toy that I MUST have on my shelf; and the Ram cycle just so I could put some vehicles with my ultimates Joes. Scale wont be perfect, but close enough to be happy with it. So mine will end up a mixed collection. Quote:
I'd like to see their version of Blowtorch. Kind of like Tripwire, I think they'd do a great Sunbow head sculpt, preferably in Ultimate scale.
The fact that they announced these characters on April 1st made me wonder. But they've also got enamel pins for the slogans. Hopefully they don't become like Hasbro, offering subpar versions first and 'improved' versions later. Quote:
I wonder if Super 7 will bother doing variants of the molds to give us toy versions of figures; such as silver faces BAT and officer troopers; or do you think the toy stuff is outside their license to make the figures? As even their retro line have been 100% toon "anything but vintage toy updated" stuff so far.
I would def buy some variants to expand this line. As I am honestly concerned that Super 7 might not get many ultimates figures made out before the line ends. As I dont see as many people buying the Ultimates figures as Joe collectors do with the vintage scale stuff and a lot of people seem upset with recent super 7 figures. An now on top of that we have the Ultimates Cheetara figure production quality issue.... so ya. I am somewhat concerned for the fate of the Ultimates gijoe line. Quote:
https://preorder.super7store.com/pag...-orders-status
Also in reference to glow in the dark and toy variants, I would definitely bet on both. They've done GITD for several Ultimates lines and their recent (but removed for some reason) line of Thundercats were all toy variants. Quote:

How are you all planning to buy the Ultimates figures? Anyone doing doubles or trying to troop build so far with whats been revealed?
What is everyones thoughts on the blue Baroness. Do you think because we go Blue Baroness first that Black suit Baroness will be a SDCC item an hard to get or do you think it will eventually get a regular release an if so, what kind of stuff do you think Super7 will take to SDCC an cons as exclusives? If it isnt a black suit Baroness I would bet we will see glow in the dark Ultimates "irradiated" ultimates snake eyes like the retro figure. I cant wait to see what else they reveal at SDCC for the ultimates line. I am honestly so excited to collect this Ultimates Joe line... that I am honestly debating selling some other collectibles to make shelf space so I can go three of each wave JUST so I can have custom fodder figures to make even more Joe figures for my shelf. Quote:
I debated whether or not I was going to collect Ultimates, at all, due to the price, but since Hasbro is jacking up Classified prices, I don't see the Ultimates as much different than a deluxe release from Classified, so it isn't much of a stretch, anymore. Plus, they look really good.
That being said, I'm not troop building these, because 100 dollars for two identical figures is too much, for my liking... especially when I can still get a Classified B.A.T.S. for about 25 dollars. So 4 Classified B.A.T.S. or 2 Ultimate ones. From what I can tell, Super 7 has a set plan for the Ultimate line, which is due to last about 5 years. I'm hoping they will do well enough to extend the line beyond that 5 year agreement, but if not, I don't see them doing TOO many repaints, since they will be trying to get as many unique figures out as possible. That being said, a black suit Baroness is definitely a possibility. I believe that, from what Brian has said, their current plan scheme is set to traverse the Sunbow era from the beginning up to (and including) the 1987 movie. At least, that's what he seemed to be hinting at. At the moment, we have two waves scheduled to be released this year and one already set for next year. I think we'll see at least two more waves for next year (maybe more, if shipping issues get resolved soon), so at least three waves per year, at 4 figures per wave = 12 figures per year and 60 over the course of the five year contract. That's quite a lot of figures they can make, although I don't see them branching out into obscure figures, like they are doing with Reaction.. I've never seen them do a variant considered "required" for a collection like black suit baroness. It's always been glow in the dark and "toy colors" etc. I don't know what they've got planned for SDCC, but I wouldn't be too surprised to see black suit Baroness as the G.I. Joe Ultimates representative. I don't think we'll see TOO much from G.I. Joe Ultimates, though, as the line is still new. We'll probably see more at the SDCCs over the next few years. I agree about being excited for this line. The more I see of them, the better I feel about my decision to go all-in and order all three waves. These figures look incredible and will definitely make for some incredible photography shots for my Instagram page. Quote:
If somebody were to suddenly go all-in on the Joe half of the Ultimates and suddenly order all 6 of the Joes in the line on a whim, where would you point them to order them from? Imagining they didn't care about the boxes being pristine but just about trying save a bit of money if possible and get in a bit less trouble with his hypothetical wife, if possible?

Ya, I was looking at that recently. I really hope they do increase the production numbers of figures from 4 figures per wave to 6 or 8. As I was looking seriously into this an if you count toon speaking appearances on screen OR where characters were reused often or were on screen for more than a cameo. Then we are looking at 84 Sunbow characters. An if the 5 year thing is it an done and this is all we get is the 5 year run... some wont make it in.
Now we can assume they are following the corporate plans. So figure we will also get "something" as a bonus SDCC/convention yearly item... or 2 if lucky. But my money is on only 1 bonus con item per year. So if it follows the current plan of 4 figures with 3 waves per year + 1 bonus minumum per year that breaks down to 65 character figures released in ultimates total with only 36 stated by brian as already on paper an confirmed and in planning/design stages with 2 other waves to follow. Here is the list I have came up with off top of my head going off characters that had speaking roles or were on screen for a significant amount of time. [Cobra Troops] ================================================ Serpentor ==Currently Announced Figure==> Cobra Commander [Helmet] ==Currently Announced Figure==> Baroness [Blue Suit] Baroness [Standard Black Suit] ==Currently Announced Figure==> Destro ==Currently Announced Figure==> Storm Shadow Tomax Xamot Dr Mind Bender Major Bludd Firefly Zartan Buzzer Ripper Torch Zandar Zaranna MonkeyWrench Thrasher ScrapIron Copperhead Wild Weasel Viper Trooper Televiper Trooper Crimson Guard Trooper Eel Diver Trooper SnowSerpent Trooper ==Currently Announced Figure==> Cobra Footsoldier Trooper ==Currently Announced Figure==> Cobra Battle Android Trooper [BAT] Golobulus Nemesis Enforcer Pythona Cobra La Soldier GiJoe Troops ================================================ General Hawk ==Currently Announced Figure==> Duke ==Currently Announced Figure==> Flint Ace Airtight Alpine Barbeque Bazooka Beachhead Big Lob Blowtorch Breaker Chuckles Clutch Cover Girl Cross Country Cutter Deep Six Dial-Tone Dusty Falcon Flash Footloose Frostbite Grunt Gung-Ho Iceberg Jinx ==Currently Announced Figure==> Lady Jaye Law n Order Leatherneck Lift-Ticket Lowlight Mainframe Mercer Mutt n Junkyard Quick Kick Recondo Red Dog Ripcord Roadblock Rock-n-Roll ==Currently Announced Figure==> Scarlet Scifi Sgt Slaughter Shipwreck n Polly ==Currently Announced Figure==> Snake Eyes [Blue Commando Suit] Snake Eyes [Black Standard Suit] Snowjob Spirit Stalker Steeler Taurus Thunder Torpedo Tripwire Tunnel Rat Wetsuit Wildbill Likely Variants to be used for Conventions ================================================== = Figures that can be easily repainted to be 100% toy accurate with no new molding... Duke v1 Tan an beige pants figure Toy Repaint Flint Toy Variant Repaint Cobra Bat Toy Variant Repaint Cobra Officer Trooper Variant Repaint Snake Eyes Irradiated glow in dark Variant Toy variant that does not have its toy head version currently included in the currently announced figures and would require only 1 newly tooled part. Such as... Destro [Toy Head with sharp angles like a metal helmet] Lady Jaye [resculpted head with cap added] -ALSO- Figures MOST likely to be used a convention given Brains comments so far and choices of characters and reuse of bucks for max profit an minimal tooling. Such as... [CURRENT EXPECTAION FOR CON ITEM] - [TOP PICK] Snake Eyes Irradiated glow in dark Variant Reasons - #1 - Figure has already seen this released as a retro figure variant. So Super 7 wants to make it as a figure. #2 - Figure is a glow figure, which is a specialty and favorite of Super 7 an Brian himself #3 - This glowing large scale figure would also show off the company's skills with materials most do not use often anymore to others that visit the convention an help build company rep. #4 - Figure is a 100% reuse of existing mold with nothing new required for production but a new plastic mixture for the glowing body. #5 - Super 7 VERY recently even did a Glow in the Dark Foot Soldier for TMNT, so interest in doing glow figures is still there for the production team. #6 - [assuming we were not lied to in the interview] Brain himself said he doesnt want to make it hard to collect his toys. So he would not most likely do a figure thats wanted as a con item, like a Toy varaint. So a glow varaint is obscure, and not needed for the collection by the mainline Joe collectors who just want to have all the characters. So it is a near perfect fit for the Convention choice. Outside Glow in the Dark snake eyes. I would put money on an easy toy varaint repaint figure that requires 0 new tooling an just paint. As those would also not be "required" for collectors who just want to have the toon roster. But would be great for "all in Joe collectors" who want everything. Which would mean a simple repaint, and limited to existing tooled molds. So either a Toy Variant Duke or Cobra BAT... but lets be fair. IF Brain does this, it would obviously be the Toy variant of a Cobra Bat. Again based on his favoring the BAT so much as having pushed it out in wave 1 himself! So my BACKUP Next Best Choice - Toy Variant Repaint of the Super 7 Cobra BAT mold For the following year, my money for a Con exclusive would be a tossup between PSA/Toy Flint as it would be a 100% mold reuse just repainted... or less likely a toy head variant Lady Jaye as she would require a newly tooled part. An Super 7 will be looking to reuse molds as much as possible to recoop cost over time. Quote:
I finally remembered to do this.
For those interested in comparisons, here's 00 Snake Eyes with various Ultimates. King Diamond is on the lean side for the line. I imagine the Joes will look closer to him proportionally. Lion-O and Conan are about average. Andre is, obviously, giant. For my taste the Joe Ultimates won't be compatible with Classified scale-wise or aesthetically, but everyone's mileage will vary. As an Ultimates collector I'll be getting them all anyway. On another note, I hadn't looked at this Snake Eyes in a while and it is a damned fine figure. Quote:
As I was rewatching the Super7 video on the wave 1 figures an I am literally just now noticing that the Bats backpack looks to only use TINY thin lil C clip shaped brackets on the top of the backpack that look like they will "just" rest on the yellow part of the shoulders or slot into the middle of it.... yikes. I "[really]" hope it has something else to secure it. As That will be flimsy as all heck if it doesn't!! I mean without a post hole to secure it all you would have to do is turn it slightly at an angle an backpack will completely fall off an possibly break those clips!!!! Not to mention how fragile those parts will be if cast in hard plastic!!! As from this shot in the same video it looks as tho those top posts are the "ONLY" thing on the back surface of the pack toward the figure given its angle in the image... yikes! Has anyone from super7 commented on this or been asked directly about how secures onto the figure!? As as soon as I realized this I immediately started looking an every other pack shown so far and all of them use standard military over the shoulder style straps on the packs. So now I am concerned that this will restrict the durability an strength of some future backpacks that could be released in the line that were unusual an didnt use military pack straps. For example how Serpentors Hood attached. To name a few others Televipers backpack, Eels dive pack, alpines backpack, Barbeques fuelpacks, all of which didnt have straps in the toon. Just to name a few odd toon/toy packs that were just "attached" to the figures uniforms. I hope the BAT figures pack has a magnet to help hold it in place. Heck, anything more than just those worrisome thin posts would be fine! What do the rest of you think about how they attached the Cobra BATS pack. Do you think they will break easy? Do you think it possible uses a magnet at the bottom to also hold it in place or something else? OR will it be a fragile as all heck figure? [concerned] WHOLE other Ramen 😆 If they'd been the other kind, I'd own the Centurions, the Hawks, AND been likely sidelined for SALT overdose 😆 |

They need to work on the head sculpts. That (other than price) is my main criticism of them thus far.

Where do they show off prototypes or do announcements at? As I wasn't even aware they were working on a Bravestarr or 30/30.

Probably their Facebook page gets them first. Or if they have an IG.
