What a bad day to have slept in. I missed them both, oh well. Hopefully they'll restock or BBTS, EE or somewhere will get them. But on the bright side, that has to be good news for Super7 and GIJoe ReAction+.

I saw CG & CC, never saw SE or the B.A.T. Problem is that Target fulfills most of their online orders at the store level from existing stock. So many times they get pulled from the back before ever hitting shelves. And, even if they aren't, people may come in with the UPC/DPCI and have them pulled from the back as well.

My thought exactly. While I'm mildly annoyed that Fatal Fluffy has proven elusive as a timed Target exclusive thus far, I'm happy that both these obscure characters with all-new tooling are seemingly performing well. They really needed to.

Well, kind of a bummer that I missed the FF (for now), I am glad the exclusives weren't something I'd consider a must have for my collection.

Whoever asked me about my comment about getting them from bbts i dont know all the ins and outs or what's what. If they go to bbts I'll get them because there's no other way I'll get them.
I dont get much locally. My target is empty. Target was sold out of bats online, bbts had them. This line may as well all be a target exclusive for all i care. And it i cant get them im not chasing them down. I'm literally sitting in my cave looking at shit thinking "why did I buy this?" "Im never going to be able to get rid of this." Opening packaged toys and moving things from one box into another. |

I lived for over 40 years without buying a single G.I. Joe action figure and now they are playing these games to where it is impossible to buy their toys.... I'm ready to quit collecting all over again. I'm a single dad and have no time (or desire) to play these games.
How can you run a business and make money by making toys and "NOT" selling them? And at the same time pissing off the small group who are the only buyers? To me this sounds like G.I. Suicide??? There can't be that may collectors out there as is. Some started up again and are quiting because of this...I thought the whole goal was to get people interested in collecting again. If Super7 and Hasbro were SMART they would be making everything we ask and raking in the dough for guaranteed and growing sales... ...STOP THE EXCLUSIVE GAMES... This really changes my thinking when it comes to anymore collecting.... maybe it IS just worthless plastic... maybe I should travel, invest, buy an RV. Buy more land???? Get a classic car, or a boat.... |

If Super7 and Hasbro were SMART they would be making everything we ask and raking in the dough for guaranteed and growing sales... ...STOP THE EXCLUSIVE GAMES... The toy company doesn't care if they move X number of units all at one store, or the same number spread out among a hundred stores. In the end, they're still moving that same X number of units. As you acknowledge, there aren't really that many G.I. Joe collectors out there. Pumping out 100x the product at 100x the number of stores doesn't mean you'll sell 100x as many units. At the end of the day, you're still marketing to the same limited customer pool. All these games are designed to convince that pool of customers to plunk down their money as soon as possible, as opposed to sitting and waiting for a while and eventually forgetting about it when the next shiny thing comes along. We as customers may feel frustrated by this, but it's just the reality of the market for niche collectibles these days. This isn't the 1980s, where every kid in America could be counted on to buy a steady supply of G.I. Joe toys at their nearest K-Mart or TRU or sometimes even off a random peg at the local hardware store while their dad was busy buying a power drill and box of screws. Those days are gone. |

Or they just rot back there, and then randomly show up a year later when there is space like TVC N1s just did at Target nearme. |

My nostalgia for Joes is driven as much by the cartoon as the original toys, and I love what Super 7 is at least trying to do because of that. However, getting c-list, one-off characters like these two don't do anything for me and I'll be passing on them. I hope they sell so we will get more and more figures, but I wonder about the popularity of something like this versus well known characters that are loved by the fans but haven't had nice, cartoon styled figures in this style. There has never been an O-ring Flint in cartoon colors, which is pretty crazy considering that he was the poster child of GI Joe for years.
I've never seen any at any Target I've visited. |
