I'm in the same boat. I wonder if this a trial for Hasbro and Super7 because of the rumor that Hasbro is trying to get out of the toy manufacturing business and switching to being a licensor.

oh also the best o-ring serpentor head was the comic pack, so, i really dont see this one improving on that. so i'm good. might get the fatal fluffies and ramar though.

I had to grab something at the Target where I got the wave 1 figs, and was curious what they had on the floor. Only Reaction+ figure was a Cobra Commander, which I grabbed for a nephew. It was behind 3 regular reaction figures. It is CRAZY that they are sharing a single peg and I would have totally missed the o-ring figure if I wasn't looking for it.

This isn't just directed at you, but everyone asking for this specific thing:

Your expectations are stupid and based on things that were not promised.

They are intentionally sculpted like the cartoon, not shitty 70s Kenner ineptitude.

This want for a detail level of ARAH isn't going to happen. Stop expecting it. Stop asking for it. If you want to know why, with references, go back-read this thread.

Don't buy Serpentor. Don't even look at him. Just put your energy into something else, so we don't have to hear about your disappointment that is based on fantasy.

That is old information, current as of around a year and a half ago.

Here's the restructuring of the business they went with instead:

There are licensed-only brands, which they refer to as "exiting brands" like Power Rangers, but they have recently shrunk their manufacturing footprint and are now making less things across less brands instead of leaving the toy business.

GI Joe isn't an exiting brand.

If you dig around in recent news articles, you will find out they are also intending to restructure to have what used to be US positions based in Asia instead, to be closer to manufacturing and supply chain.

If you would like to read the sources yourself, most of this information was parts of articles linking from the stories around John Warden being among the recent Hasbro layoffs.

Counterpoint: keep saying what you want. There's zero chance of getting it otherwise. Yes, cartoon styles should look like the cartoon. But the supposed comic looks should have slightly more detail and fit in better with the figures from 40 years ago.

Same, TBH. I came along in '86, with '87 being my first "all-in" year, so derpy Duke was long gone by the time I learned who was who, etc., and I was really only vaguely aware of TF because I had TF Dusty. I didn't get my first Duke until the pre-BC version, and to his day, he's my defacto Duke.

The new wave is interesting. But all 4 raise questions on the execution.

Ramar and Fatal Fluffy have interesting scaling choices? Are they going to make them large figures? Probably not.
Duke is interesting, the suggestion here is this is a cartoon colour Duke, But Hasbro recently did that, and S7 are seemingly avoiding stuff thats readily available. So this is a weird one.
Serpentor will be exciting. Its listed as cartoon colours. In the cartoon he was (mainly) all yellow armour with a dark green cape. That will make it look distinct from the yellow/green/gold armour from the 80s figure. Im sure we will find out soon.

i still remember getting the battle armor cobra commander at a flea market. i did get that red mask one before the battle commander and black clothes one, and that red mask one doesnt even come near the list. the black one is my second favorite. my gijoe is pretty much what dic had on at the time - red camo duke, battle armor cobra commander, and ig destro even though my preferred years are 87-91.

however, if im going with a hooded cobra commander im going with the comic pack head. dumb as hell they had the flat back on him - so i just swapped out that torso for a worms one (completely unmodified) and he's been my de-facto cobra commander ever since. even though the original battle armor is my favorite version of him it doesnt work in most situations to me.
