So how many people ordered 2 of the new Classified RB so they can put that head on the 1st Classified RB? I think that would make that 1st Classified RB look more like the V2 RB.

I was told Santa wasn't real before GI Joe wasn't real so I was really, really prepared for the hard truth!
Hey. If you can't actually understand it, what's the functional difference between sorcery and science? Haha! |

Welp, there goes the last gasp of Operation Blackout designs, I guess.

But I got Major Bludd, at least. All things considered, I think I'd rather see some sort of weird ninja hybrid version of Firefly from when he was a big ninja villain for Ninja Force. For the reveals: I'm definitely seeing a much bigger refocus to more "classical" looks on a LOT of these new figures. For the most part, my "completionism" was sated by 25th into Retaliation. I just find it so much harder to get excited for figures that are the same but SLIGHTLY more modern. Roadblock- Very classic, and I DO love they finally gave him a helmet. New headsculpt is great and the mini gun is solid. But after almost half a dozen iterations of that look during ME...it's not bringing me anything new to the character. Breaker and RAM- Again, astonishingly classic in design. Some of the new design elements in the side car are nifty, and Breaker looks nice. But I have zero attachment to the character or vehicle and the size and cost of the offering is an issue. BBQ- Again, very traditional, very well executed...but it doesn't really bring anything new to the character aside from making him in the new scale. And I'm just not in the collecting position to rebuy everyone just for a new scale without a compelling interpretation. Snake Eyes- I have to admit, rereading the old Joe comics and America's Elite, I've found a much greater appreciation for his old Commando look. Hasbro nailed it out of the park with him (and probably using a lot of assets we'll see later in guys like Stalker) with fantastic weapons, and an AMAZING Timber. I know it's odd to praise this after digging the other reveals for their sameness, but I think Hasbro DID put just a little bit extra here. I think it was a solid start to the month. Hopefully, they'll keep reveals and teases coming through to the end of the month. Before switching gears to build up the movie toys.

I am finding myself very underwhelmed by Breaker and BBQ. Commando Snake Eyes still feels 'Classified' to me - its loaded with detail, modern-tech looking gear, and so on. Breaker and BBQ on the other hand seem like 25th anniversary figures 'upsized' to 6". Breaker could use some extra paint aps to break up all the drab green... and BBQ just needs 'something'. I never expected a simple re-do of original figure. That's it.
The RAM looks 'kinda' cool? But again - why not update it? Tech it out? Make it modern looking. As it is, its just the original RAM upsized. Feels boring and out of place. I guess everything can't be a home run. |

Don't worry; a couple of years down the road we'll probably get a Gamestop exclusive "gaming greats" type line that will give us all those designs. Their Star Wars exclusives are usually pretty easy to order so I wouldn't complain if they got something GIJC eventually.

Roadblock is sold-out on Amazon
I am glad that Hasbro decided to add this as part of the figure descriptions.. Mission Compatibility Profile Codename: Roadblock File Name: Marvin F. Hinton Birthplace: Biloxi, MS, USA Faction: G.I. Joe Role: Vanguard Mastery: Artillery A one-man wrecking crew, Roadblock lives up to his codename with exceptional strength and the courage to stand and face any threat. Loves massive weapons with awesome stopping power and is the foremost expert in heavy weaponry. A gentle giant and a foodie at heart, with a passion for fine meals and culinary arts. Reminds me of the old file cards.. 1 step closer to greatness, Bravo Hasbro! |
