Hot take: I'd be kinda upset if they did. It'd be understandable, but I really like the Blackout look.
...to be honest, I'm already a little bummed they modified the colour schemes to what they are now.

To the OP, I'm not sure if we will get cartoon accurate arah style figures, most likely not, because it seem that Hasbro playing a balancing act between appealing to modern collectors and kids in terms to the scale and perhaps updated expectations, while still trying to connect with older collectors nostalgia. Some figures veer more towards the "let's see how far we can stretch modern potential of this figure without it completely losing its' original essence", to the other figures that retain more of the original characteristics. It all feels a little unfocus personally, because it feels like Hasbro is not sure which direction they want to go in with the line, so you have figures like Destro and Zartan that get a bit closer to the originals, and then you have figures like Scarlett.
To be honest, I don't really care if Hasbro experiments with this line, because I feel it's quite separate from the ARAH Joes I relate to, they feel like their own different thing. Had Hasbro gotten the "retro" line right, I'd really have nothing to complain about. I mean, if you're going to advertise "retro" Joes, give us the original o-ring Joes on their original cards, and then everyone will be happy. All the people that like 6" figures get what they want, and the people who are really into 3 3/4" o-ring Joes will be happy. It really shouldn't be that difficult, I feel Hasbro is overthinking this where they really don't need to. |

Yeah, though I was never a huge fan of the 1982 figures, I'd be completely happy if they started from the beginning and worked their way through. I feel that would be fair to everyone... but, it Hasbro were to do something left field like give o-ring fans the construction they want, I feel like their go to figures would be the same as always, ie Snake Eyes, Scarlett, Duke, Cobra Commander, Destro and Baroness. I however would whole heartedly support o-rings released in their original waves... one can dream.

In light of recent events we might get a Sunbow Roadblock, Snake Eyes, C.C. Anybody else I don't know.

I guarantee they will eventually but in typical Hasbro fashion they'll make it a pain to obtain the ideal version or release them in a way that they're close to the ideal version but not quite, forcing you to purchase a later release.
