Which is why a lot of comic creators don't like their fans as much anymore, because some fanboys have to get butthurt over the smallest of things.

Regarding Hama "making it up page by page"
I don't know about that. I doubt it. I honestly feel that GI Joe issue 30 to 60 is probably some of best storytelling in comics history. I put it right up there with Chris Claremont X men run of almost the same era. Larry had something really special going in the mid 1980s. |

I hope the films aren't rebooting I've just gotten really into the Joe films although was always more of Transformers fan. I love making chronological lists of my favorite franchises currently watching from a Transformers/G.I. Joe list I've made since I read about a potential G.I.Joe/Transformers crossover. Today, I just bought a two-pack of G.I. Joe Movie 1 and 2 on DVD at Target, along with Tremor 7-movie collection and last month bought both movies on Amazon to steam with the extended cut of Retaliation. I found them interesting mostly because it was the first time I saw villains actually win, which is rare sight I think. I first watch them way before Infinity War came out btw.
Currently it's: 1. Bumblebee (2018) 2. Snake Eyes (2021) 3. Transformers (2007) 4. Friday The 13th (2009) 5. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) 6. Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) 7. G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra (2009) 8. G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013) 9. Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) 10. Transformers: The Last Knight. Notes: - Friday the 13th remake is included due to the bully character, Trent, is believed to be the same character in both Transformers (2007) and Friday the 13th (2009). - If G.I. Joe movies are in the same universe as Transformers it been hard to place chronological as no date is given, aside from "in the near future". The main problems, there are two main ones, the President, in the first three films of the Transformers films show Bush and Obama are in office. I had just check when Obama was sworn in and it was in January 2009. So, the Joe movies could take place either before the first three or after. After would work more because between the third and fourth film there is a five-year gap, so 2013-2017, as Dark of the Moon(TF3) is believed to take place in 2012. - I found something on the trivia section of G.I. Rise of Cobra (2009) that states the movie takes place in 2020, meaning the Joe Movies could take place after The Last Knight, as there was a prop tombstone sold at an auction for Sir Edmund Burton (Sir Anthony Hopkins' character) that says he died in 2017 meaning Transformers: The Last Knight takes place in 2017. - Another problem arises of course is the Pyramids of Giza shown in a flyover shot of the Joes taking Duke and Ripcord to the pit. As shown in Revenge of the Fallen it is missing a part of the top. Meaning Rise of Cobra (2009) takes place before Revenge of the Fallen (2009). Unless that flyover shot being at a different angle might explain why we don't see a missing chunk of one of the pyramids... So: 1. Bumblebee (2018) - Takes Place in 1987 2. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2022) - Confirmed to take place in 1994 2. Snake Eyes (2021) - Unknown Year Yet to be confirmed 3. Transformers (2007) - Takes Place in 2007 Near End of School Year 4. Friday The 13th (2009) Takes Place in Summer 2009 5. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) - Takes Place in Fall Semester of 2009 (Halloween was mentioned by Judy Witwicky to be coming up.) 6. Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) - Most likely 2012, due to the time it takes Sam to get his Degree. 7. G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra (2009) Takes Place in 2013 or 2015 (same year as Retaliation, few months apart) Maybe With The Fictional President succeeding Obama. 8. G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013) Also in 2013 or 2015 (few months after RoC) because a line of dialogue from Zartan mentioning his time spent disguised as the POTUS. 9. Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) - Takes Place in 2017 due to five-year jump from DOTM. 10. Transformers: The Last Knight (2017) Takes Place in 2017 because of a prop of Sir Edmund Burton's unused tombstone was sold at an auction revealing his death to be in 2017. 11. G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant (TBA) - Lorenzo confirmed a script for a Follow- up of Retaliation is still being written. 12. Possible G.I. Joe/Transformers Crossover film Edit: Sorry accidently called Zartan "Firefly", it was 1 in the morning when I started thinking about this. Last edited by 96megatron; 06-26-2021 at 11:02 AM.. |
