All the Star Wars talk reminds me of just how sick I've become of everything SW. I'm sorry. OGT fan but, jeez.
Between Star Bores and the superhero stuff, man...a GI Joe cinematic universe can't get here fast enough! .

I’d like to see George Lucas make his sequel trilogy, either the material he wrote almost a decade ago to help with the sale of Lucasfilm, or whatever is going on in his amazing brain these days.
Personally I like a lot of stuff from both the EU (pre-Disney books/comics/games) and the Disney era, including many aspects of the Sequel Trilogy, so I’m not talking up George’s plan merely as a way to attack something I have a lot of nerd rage about. I just think it would be awesome to see George’s vision as a third option for what happened after the original trilogy. His ideas do sound trippy and a little weird (a lot of microscopic Gulliver’s Travels stuff, exploration of the midi-chlorians) but I really hope it happens. Some recent rumors have had him writing a couple scripts for Andor and increasingly involved in S3 of The Mandalorian, so one can hope he’s gearing up for it. Again though, I don’t say this as ST hate. If I had been making VIII, Luke would have spent about an hour of screen time training Rey, developing a banter-y master/padawan mentoring-but-also-friends relationship, talking about his leanings toward a more Qui-Gon style Living Force outlook, and going on an adventure (crystal for making her own saber? or save that for early IX?). He would definitely have seen plenty of action alongside Rey and lived on to appear in IX. But that said, I don’t agree that what we got was “Jake Skywalker” or un-Star Warsy, and neither do I dislike Rose or Holdo, or Rian Johnson or Kathy Kennedy. I can defend ST Luke if somebody wants, but my broader point is that I really want to also see George’s vision, and then enjoy all three versions, EU, ST, and George. |

You’re right. My apologies for my part in veering of the road.

Who know who they will use. In a world where Queen Latifah gets an action show, anything is possible. All I know is any Joe exposure should be good. Rooting for it.

Little of both. Little more ST than GQ. I’m not a Star Trek fan (but I’ve seen the new movies) and it ALMOST makes me interested in watching a ST show.
