If this is an origin story based in the same universe as Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins and as the other future G.I. Joe movie tie-in.. kinda mca'ish, that's great
I would like to think that if we are merely treated to a G.I. Joe Series through a Lady Jaye vantage point - I am thrilled by the thought. If this is the case, villains could be the early discoveries of suspected militants such as Zartan, Firefly, Destro, Tomax & Zamot, Baroness, Major Bludd and even Cobra Commander long before Cobra is formed. Just a thought! |

No. Pretty sure if the producers stuck to the source material a little more faithfully, there would be less chatter.
Anyway, I wish the series luck if for the selfish reason of perhaps getting some 1:18 toys out it. At least better toys that b/s "retro" we're being fed. So I’m not exactly pulling that statement from thin air. |

Which is funny because The Rock is literally a black man.
And Henry Golding is literally a white man. Now we have to move to a second argument, is this actor “black” or “white” enough. See how nonsensical this can get. Bottom line, most people who know Snake Eyes either don’t know his race or don’t care. Count me in the latter. Arguing about the level of Golding’s whiteness has caused us to forget that we are getting a big budget snake Eyes movie, featuring a murderer’s row of martial arts talent. We have a big budget movie, a tv show, an amazing 6 inch toy line that is flying off the shelves, And we’re arguing because one of Snake Eyes’ parents is non-white and Lady Jaye is getting a tv show. Gotta love GI JOE fans. |

First off, Erik Oleson was a producer on Arrow, not the show-runner. He had no involvement with The Flash. He's also served as producer on a wide variety of other shows.
Arrow ran for eight seasons and kicked off a huge franchise that is the centerpiece of an entire television network's programming. So, yeah, I think it's safe to say that some people watched and liked how it treated the material. Daredevil was also well regarded among comic fans, I thought.

What's truly hilarious about this thread is that Hasbro has said nothing about the show except that it will be about Lady Jaye - a long established and popular character within the franchise. They have not announced anything about allegedly changing the character in any way. That's a straw man argument based on nothing.
Apparently, the mere fact that they would have the audacity to make a TV show about one of the girl characters is more than enough to make some people lose their frikkin' minds. How dare they make a G.I. Joe show with girls in it? What a travesty! Oh, how unfair it is to the boys! Nobody ever makes TV shows about boys!! How will our delicate male egos endure such an outrage?!?! Going by history, Baroness would be the logical villain for LJ, but it probably depends on how the show fits around Snake Eyes' film. Honestly, I'd prefer Cobra as an organization being the villain, not necessarily the same operative every episode. Hope it's good. I'm not holding my breath, we've been here before. But I'll wait and see. A Lady Jaye TV show could be great, if done right. Last edited by SnowCat; 02-25-2021 at 09:56 PM.. |

I like the series format as it allows time to develop more than a movie does and have always thought it would be a good fit for GI Joe so this is excellent news. I of course would prefer a team series as opposed to focus on a singular character, but I will definitely be checking this out. Doing anything mainstream with Joe at this point is a move in the positive direction.

What if its a gotham like show? You know? Introduce characters we know but from the point of view of the character they don't.
