Bangin' lineup wow. Seeing those together, especially the Cobras, you've got to hand it to Lenny and the designers. They are going above and beyond with this line. Thanks guys!
I say this, even though I only have one of these so far (Trooper). Passed on RB and BH. But its cool. I'll get the re-releases. I'm happy that others have them already though. I'm more excited than ever for what is to come for GI Joe and this line, despite the issues with CI. . These, and the line overall, just great so far. I'm into the brand, less connected with specific looks/versions/toys of the past, so it's perfect for me. Just want it to touch retro feels and they've done that. |

Mine indeed does have a non-duke arm on the figure-left. It was a purchase from eBay, Southern California, from a scalper. So purchased state side, at retail. Purchase was Jan 2, so it must have been in early rounds of releases. Last edited by Tony_Bacala; 01-21-2021 at 01:28 PM.. |

Also of note - it looks like the copy I have without watch has 2 right arms. The molding with the "X" and line that is on the inside of the right arm - is on the outside of the left arm here.
SO may not be a variant and just a factory mishap. That being said, it works just fine and doesn't look wrong IMO. |

I agree with Jscott, the Viper helmet is not very large. I say this as the proud owner of a couple.
I wouldn’t say it’s too small, not by a long shot. It’s at a pretty common halfway point between being the size of a head and the size a real helmet would be, with room for the face and breathing and airflow to prevent fogging. (You can use a thin appliqué of baby shampoo or dish soap to address that on diving masks, eye glasses during the pandemic, etc, but I think Cobra would have a tech-ier solution.) The original 1986 Viper, on the other hand, had a quite large helmet that really looked proportionately like a helmet, so it’s a change from a large helmet to a toylike size that is closer in size to, but still a little bigger than, a human head. That’s a notable change. Of course the helmet has other changes too, such as the red detailing and the way the...mandibles?....sweep slightly up as they approach the chin, a bit like Classified CC. IMO, the whole look is really thrown off by having the ascot in place, or the goggles off, so the way to display it is to paint the neck black or wrap it with a layer of thin black cloth, leave the ascot off, and finagle the goggles into place. After doing those things, I think it’s a fantastic figure! Last edited by books; 01-21-2021 at 02:55 PM.. |

The scale of the helmet is actually spot on. You can tell when he is standing next to the other figures. It’s a really nice figure, but I still prefer the Cobra Troopers. Speaking of Classified Cobra Troopers, how on Earth did you end up with 28!? I would love to see some pics of those Cobra Troopers. I’ve never seen that many in one group shot.
As for my Troopers, pics would be kind of boring because I've only opened four so far (I don't really have a Classified display yet). Getting them was a combination of staying up until 2 AM, winning eBay lots (just two of them) for good prices, and going to Targets on my lunch break after learning some of the PopFindr tricks for the second wave of them that hit my area. I never was at Target at opening and I never saw a single other person looking for them.

the cobra island figures are definitely the best of show .If you don't live by target you may as well just not bother with this line cause bruh you are missing out.

It might be an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the original, especially when it comes to the new paintjob on the face. Nu-Scarlett looks older and like she has a facial rash or something...she's not as cute anymore. And when they're side-by-side, the two figures look like mom and daughter now.
As for the uniform, I appreciate the attempt to tone the original down, but the color choices they went with are kinda drab. There have been really good repaints done by fans that tone the first figure down while evoking the original design more than this one did. Quote:
Un_Chakal pointed out it's not eod, but a bullet proof vest:
https://www.hisstank.com/forum/5365220-post7670.html I can't say I'm 100% up on IRL gear, but that does make more sense for Firefly story wise than then EOD. Since he's usually setting the bombs. Quote:

That's how it came in the package, I never paid too much attention either way. Official pics do have the pointing outward a bit more.
