The black is a major improvement over the blue, imo. And I do much prefer her new hair/makeup. However, Hasbro has still failed to address my primary issue: that truly horrid yellow.
So while I remain skeptical of Scarlett's sculpt overall, I am a bit curious how she'd look with black pants and all the yellow parts red. (Plus, minus that "turtle shell" thing.) Here's the black and red: And here is one that tried to go old school. Black turns navy blue, dark tan goes light tan, the tan gets brought down on mid section without going full leotard, and yellow / red blocking gets dumped. I'd be ok with more pops of color blocked out on boots, knees, gauntlets etc but this takes me forever so you get the point. |

And one more, with the navy turned a bit more grey like some OG versions.

1) It's such a drastic departure from the classic look (although, imo, that ship has sorta already sailed due to the sculpt). 2) The red/black/gold color scheme is so closely associated with the Iron Grenadiers.

Wow!!! That looks great!!! It's true to her ARAH version with just enough of an update for the Joenite crowd.

I would buy this shit in a HEARTBEAT. THIS is what Hasbro should have done. Solid job, boss.

Yeah, blue/light tan is the clear winner. Wonder if the full leotard look would be even better or not?

Only joking. I think the two-tone tan looks amazing. But with the black bodysuit (better than the blue). And a "full leotard" does seem like a logical next step.

The real question for people like me who tried to buy this and the others at retail for MSRP is: Will any be available?
I stopped at Target this morning on a lark and found that all the shelf tags (which had never held stock) had all been removed. I asked an associate about G.I. Joe Classified and she said that there weren't any numbers even in the system, and that's why the tags were removed. Way to do those Target Exclusives, Hasbro. Could the distribution even on the main line be any worse? |
