Stolen Valor vs Venom: Maximum Carnage would make a great title for a grindhouse action movie.
Also sorry Disney. Don't sue me. Last edited by Mega Convoy; 10-23-2020 at 07:55 PM.. |

Wow. I never thought I'd seriously use the terms "Cancel Culture", but accusing a guy of Stolen Valor when he was playing a character on a fictional sports soap opera that later got carried over into a cartoon, and then had the nerve to appear as that character in later years seems like a pretty clear example.
Unless he literally goes around telling people he was in fact a drill sgt who fought in wars or something... |

Sgt Slaughter is a drill instructor, served in the marines, became a wrestler and a GI Joe/Action Force ambassador.
The actor who portrays Sgt Slaughter is an actor acting....Some people forget that.

Unless he literally goes around telling people he was in fact a drill sgt who fought in wars or something... WWE has tried to cover for him, because this is embarrassing whenever he does this. A recent 2019 Radio interview of his convinced everybody that there is no plausible way to make excuses for him anymore, so from now on the response is: “No comment”. Many magazine and newspaper articles have covered this story, such as this one: https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/new...-never-served/

Alot of actors, especially method actors, do that. If they are playing a role in any fashion, they would literally live the life of that character. I remember watching an interview with Tom Hardy when he played in Warrior. He said he literally lived the life of a professional MMA fighter and stayed in character alot. Not sure if this is what Sgt Slaughter was doing, but I wouldn't be surprised.

If Slaughter does a figure with Hasbro, you know that would have to chap Vala’s ass. No matter what he would say publicly. I’m surprised he didn’t have any exclusivity for some period of time. Stolen Thunder.

Are you a believer in the fraudulent claims of his Marine Corps service? Not many others do. It's sort of like Linus believing in the Great Pumpkin.

Yeah. I was told that he was looking for a gimmick when he started and someone suggested that Slaughter use his background as a drill sergeant as his wrestling character.

I have no idea what the meeting is about but it's fun to speculate
