Looks like the Cobra Infantry bots were out in force again, I was waiting for them to pop up on the UK toy seller sites, must have loaded them up overnight (I was checking regularly up to midnight) and were sold out by the time I checked the sites at 08:00 AM . Hoping they come back in stock but as Wave 1 hasn't been restocked I am not holding out much hope.

At this point I don't see how will get unless buy from scalpers. I yet to see any in the Target near me. Being an original GI Joe collector I would love to have some of the new stuff but seems unless your a bot you have very little chance getting one.

For any other Canucks; Snake Supreme Cobra Commander is up at EB Games. Delivery only. If you missed him at Pulse this might be a good way to get him.
They also have Zartan and Cobra Infantry listed. https://www.ebgames.ca/Toys-Collecti...-action-figure EDIT: Seems They're now out of stock. Sorry, guys. Last edited by Arishikage; 09-28-2020 at 12:06 PM.. Reason: immediately out of stock |

Missed out on the Target figures again. And it happens to be the only other 2 I REALLY want along with SS. I found Cobra Commander by crazy chance at a target in Melbourne Florida, crushed and hidden behind board games. So I have CC, Snake Eyes 1 & 2, and Beach Head. I returned wave 1 and Baroness. I am not sure what to do, I dont want incomplete collections of just my favorites either. No Firefly and No Viper? I'd like and Cobra Eel, Joe Diver and Shockwave, but they'll probably be at Target too, lol. I think I will hang onto the couple I have and see what happens. I have never seen such poorly handled releases though, guess some things never change. No joy collecting this line so far. That early Snake Eyes got my hopes so high.

Clearly there's reasoning behind these store exclusives, I just don't necessarily agree with the suggestion that a huge company like Target is really benefiting that much from the additional foot traffic created by a niche toy that comes 6 figures to a case and each store only receives a few cases. I shop at Target all the time (not nearly as often now with the pandemic, but otherwise it's my families everything store), but when I'm toy hunting, if they don't have what I'm looking for, I'm probably walking out of the store with nothing. I'm not punishing the store or trying to make a statement; I think they'll be ok even without my business that day; I guess that's just how I respond to the situation. If I'm there specifically to try and find a collectible/toy and they have it, I'm simply far more likely to buy something else while I'm there. If not, not so much.
Anyhow, it seems to me that the same could be said of traffic on the Target website if they're offering an "exclusive." The same rules should apply online as they do in a store; additional foot traffic or clicks equals the possibility for additional sales. My question is, why is Target offering so few of their allocation to online sales/preorders? Why not offer up enough online so that they don't all get snatched up in minutes...? And don't even mention bots. Plenty of other companies manage preorders just fine. I just don't get it. Last edited by Ted Kamensky; 09-28-2020 at 01:23 PM.. |

Do you all consider Entertainment Earth as an option when purchasing figures? I've only used them twice and the last time I bought from them was a little over a year ago, but both buying experiences were solid. If you are still looking to pre-order Zartan and/or Cobra Infantry, they have both up for pre-order. They list Zartan as arriving in January and Cobra Infantry arriving in Feb. They have the wave 3 case (including v1 RB and Scarlett) up as well and listed as a January arrival

That's seemingly what they DON'T want to do since we find ourselves in this recurring position. At first, I was of the mentality of "Hey it's a new line and nobody knew what it would be so the numbers were off," but after it happened AGAIN I'm convinced that it's being done by design. |

If you didn't make an order right away on something as hot as those, you're likely not going to get yours that month. They only get so much in at a time and the list of orders gets fulfilled in the order that they were purchased. If you bought them right now, you'd probably be so far down on the list that you wouldn't get them realistically for months after that date and that's not even counting any potential delays. I'm not saying that it's 100% certain that what I said will happen, but that's how the industry works with Pre-Orders and a VERY good chance of what will happen. Pre-Ordered website dates for product can be VERY misleading for those not in the "know." Then you have customers wondering why the site said one date and then they didn't have "yours" for delivery until another. |

As I mentioned before. That probably has to do with the fact that if you're able to get this stuff in an "easier" manner then what it currently is, that effectively kills the "hunt" aka the traffic or at the least slows it down.

At first, I was of the mentality of "Hey it's a new line and nobody knew what it would be so the numbers were off," but after it happened AGAIN I'm convinced that it's being done by design. It's craziness. I actually agree that much of the rollout/business strategy behind the line has been done by design; there's really no reason to believe otherwise. It just doesn't make sense to me that Target was offering up such small quantities for preorder that their stock was depleted within minutes. No one trying to preorder should have been turned away within the first hour. I'm sorry, but it's pretty sad for the fans I've seen/read on these forums basically conceding that they'll never find these figures at retail and thus won't collect the line. These figures really shouldn't be this hard to come by. And given the difficulties everyone in the world is facing, you'd think that these companies would make these things easier to come by, not more difficult. |

THEN they've also managed to get another demographic into the mix as in the re-sellers that aren't even interested in this stuff. The sneaker heads and that whole crew. So now you've got those jack-wagons running around driving up traffic in addition to us. I seriously don't know if I could give them anything other then an A to be honest. That's not an A in a good way, but if the idea is to get asses in the door and on the site, it's working. All you see is people posting about this crap all over the place. I want to make this clear though. I'm not agreeing with the way that they're going about it as it's FUBAR and dirty, but it's certainly driving up traffic, making people stake out the site and run into multiple stores continuously like lunatics. THAT'S where it's working. |
