MODS: please leave this as a new thread so that hopefully SOMEONE with power to fix it can get it done. Users: please use this info when you go into stores and HOPEFULLY someone at the store level will care enough to get it done.
What would be best is if we can get someone at Habsro to notice so they can call Target's toy buyer (or whoever) straight up and have it fixed Obviously we all know about the "Street date" problems with Target with the new GI Joes. Its actually been happening for awhile with Transformers (and maybe other things) but its never been anything "hot" so no one really cared. Here's what's happening: When Target.com puts up something for a pre-order on the website there is a "product arrival date" in the system. For the new joes its 8/14. For some reason the handheld device is programmed to see this "online preorder arrival" date and call it a "Street date" on the front screen the device. The actual "street date" can be looked up elsewhere (in this case 7/26) and that is what controls the register lock. What needs to be fixed is that "street date" field in the handheld needs to be changed to look at the actual "street date" field that locks the registers, and not the "online preorder arrival" date from the website. So the effect of this is Target store employees scan the product to see what aisle/shelf it goes on, they see that date and put it in the back (in theory) when it should just be put out for sale. Frustrating all of us. So I'm asking anyone here who knows someone at Hasbro (or at Target's corporate office) to direct them to this thread, or this reddit post I just made: https://old.reddit.com/r/Target/comm...h_relating_to/ And here's a list of DCPIs for the Hasbro/Target person who may not be as aware of the issue as us that frequent this board: These are up for pre-order for 8/14, but should have a "Street date" of 7/26: Cobra Trooper: 087-16-9726 Baroness: 087-16-4933 Beachhead: 087-16-2012 Roadblock: 087-16-6262 These are up for pre-order for 11/1, but also should be available as of 7/26: Red Ninja: 087-16-9540 Cobra Commander: 087-16-9403 Gung Ho: 087-16-9973 These last three ring up at the register as an assortment with DCPI 087-16-3310, but if the stores scan the individual figures in the handheld it shows the "street date" of 11/1 Last edited by BenjaminXavier; 08-03-2020 at 09:46 AM.. |

Dude, just wait until the 14th.
And there are several online retailers that you can order CC, PDD, Red Ninja and Gung Ho from to avoid all this hub bub. |

I understand that. That's not my point. My point is this has been happening for almost a year and people get turned down in store buying all kinds of things because of this error. I'm trying to let Hasbro know that Target is not selling their products due to a database error.

I can see a bunch of folks who preordered on Pulse simply canceling them when they find them at retail earlier than expected. |

What's weird is that Pulse lists GH and CC as having a 11/1 release date. Wouldn't Pulse won't to be able to sell first? It seems like a strange business model to have the brand's own company have a special "collector" store that ships after everyone else.
I can see a bunch of folks who preordered on Pulse simply canceling them when they find them at retail earlier than expected. It may be more, but I am not looking at my preorder spreadsheet. |

That happening with wave 1 was why I preordered CC on Amazon. PDD is the only Pulse order I bothered with.

I sure hope the Hasbro/Target hubbub and the Target database clusterflub get sorted out. I'd even be willing to wait it out till around the 14th.

Appreciate you doing this. I agree that Target needs to get their sh-to together and fi the issue.
You can't be having "early" selling in some stores and then blocking ppl in other stores. Its either street dated or not, enough of this crap that its up to the store to decide, cause customers get screwed and scalpers reap the benefits... You would think Target wants the sales enough to listen to all these ppl coming into their store with proof that their info is wrong... Speaking of Reddit, some of this Target reddit post are hilarious, I wonder if they posted about all these "collectors" cominig in asking about 8/14 street dates!
