This assumes that they don't also use PF. I would think that those who are able to get a boat load of these figures are even more proficient at using PF than the regular guy, and perhaps even have people working for/with them that are close to that store for quicker access.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Pointing fingers at people and saying you are the problem is wrong. People should be able to buy what they want for whatever reason. A simple capatcha and figure limit would resolve most of these issues out the gate. It shouldn't matter to you what I want. Target could take a stand at any point to try and resolve this. They could probably ask hasbro to make more if they wanted to. They don't give a shit, it's evident. Your frustrations should fall squarely on their shoulders. Furthermore, their employees buying cases out the back to resell doesn't help either. Should they be allowed to buy figures, sure. Should they be a contributing factor in the failures of one stores operation? No, I don't think they should. Once again, that's on target. If you want 5 or 10, or want to trade or customize, you should be able to without people saying you're the problem. Because at the end of the day, the customer is the reason why the business exists.

I know we live in the age of "outrage culture" on the internet, but if anyone points their finger at me over ANYTHING to do with these TOYS, they can stick that finger right up their ass!
I bought a Firefly and a Viper off ebay cause I wanted these for my collection and that was the only way for me to get them. I'm not thrilled about overpaying, but it's my money, and I'm an adult, so I know what I'm doing. I'm not "feeding the scalpers!" "It's YOUR fault!" The only entities at fault here are Hasbro and Target. Period. Not fellow collectors buying for themselves and friends, not people paying inflated prices because they had no other choice, and quite frankly, I don't even blame the scalpers. I personally wouldn't do it...seems like a waste of time and effort to get a very small return, but if those greedy guys weren't out there grabbing extras, I JUST PLAIN WOULDN'T GET ANY. Because Hasbro and Target did NOT make enough. If ZERO scalpers bought these, just the collector community alone would have snatched these all up in minutes. And collectors sure like to demonize the big bad scalpers, but I've seen very little altruism on this or any other boards when it comes to this Cobra Island shit. I haven't seen ANY offers of cost plus shipping....even "good" collectors know they can squeeze a little extra for these. So who is to blame? Hasbro and Target. They created this mess. It all trickles down from there. And to anyone that's making like 40 trips a week to local Targets trying to find these "in the wild?" Stop it. Get some help. What are you trying to prove? You've wasted gas and you've wasted HOURS of your life. Just pay the inflated price and get the toy you want and be happy. There's no shame in it when that's really the only choice you have. |

well I happily stand corrected then, that at least ONE or two collectors out there made the cost plus shipping offer.

My local Target is on my way to work, so I'm not wasting any/much gas there.

As fellow members have said here, ad nauseam, it shouldn’t be this hard or expensive (whether it’s $$, gas, or time) to just get the figures we want. On the flip side, some enjoy the hunt and the thrill of finding it out in the wild. I’ve got 5 Targets within 20 minutes of me. When I need to get out of my (very full, very noisy) house and we happen to need toilet paper, K-cups or batteries (all things I bought today), I can hit at least two of them. I found nothing this time. For some people it’s not that easy. There’s no easy answer. Pay scalpers, hunt for yourself, count on the kindness of strangers, or give up. Even those of us “lucky” enough to get a preorder in after the first Cobra Island massacre got screwed this time around. Target doesn’t care. Hasbro doesn’t care. But turning on each other solves nothing either. Some people are selfish, some are greedy, some just need the extra cash because the world sucks right now. We don’t know. I felt like someone was gonna call me scalper when I grabbed three of the same figure. It shouldn’t be that way. But it is. Wishing us all some luck. BECAUSE ZARTAN JUST STARTED POPPING UP IN STORES.
