I'm just seconds away from saying screw it and be done with the GI Joe figures...Can't find them in stores can't order them online, sold out everywhere[well not ebay]..Heck I can't find hardly anything of Hasbro's (Star Wars,Marvel legends)and if I do it shows up one time or it's all old stuff from year ago..I may just stick with McFarlane DC figures I have no problem getting them..
Otherwise, I've gone to EBay and paid the "finder's fees" (a 300-400% markup) which is also not fun. Just looking at the Red Ninja figure which is a figure that has already been released is now once again available for pre-order with an estimated ship date of August. I mean, come on. It's going to end up taking them ten years to release a year's worth of figures at this rate. I guess it isn't the 1980s anymore. I really don't think Hasbro has a clue what they're doing anymore. I think they are a company that has grown too large and they've bit off more than they can chew. As long as the world doesn't run out of plastic, they could practically be printing money over there yet somehow they can't make enough of their toys and people are tripping over each other trying to get them. Scalpers (collectively) are earning more selling their toys than Hasbro is. If I were an investor, I'd be furious. Sadly, I am just a customer and a fan... and I am also furious. Ha. |

It really makes perfect sense as to why these haven’t nor will not be in stores.
Kids don’t play with toys like we grew up with anymore. Anyone with Kids know what I am talking about. 10-25 minutes and it s a distant memory . Nothing wrong with that but they have 24 hour access to their favorite entertainment , games , skins, what have you. Toy companies know this. Collectors should. But not all do. These toys arent catered to kids. Certain marketing strategies are, to take in a few more bucks, like the Fornite collab, Batman vs Snake Eyes crossover in the Fortnite universe all of which I appreciate to at least try to get kids to buy into it. Toy companies know it’s going to make money off digital sales. Not Target. Not Walmart. The real strategy is the scalpers. Wether you want to face that fact or not. Hasbro didn’t drop the ball with a relaunched line. They new exactly what they were doing as soon as they released wave 1. The targets were Joe collectors. In the last 6 months even the ARAH prices have sky rocketed. graded or not. And in fairness they launched it at the exact right time as stores aren’t restocking shit other than what they need. The perfect Storm . I’m not mad about it. But it’s time to face the music . Nowadays retro Toys are primarily targeted for mostly grown folks . Secondary are In hopes a kid will be interested. Just my two cents.

Invite yourselves to TFW and start a Transformers collection, haha. A very good launching point here. I think the brand can only go up from here! Been in TF since I got back in 2009. There's been ups and downs but we're in a golden age right now if you ask me.
I mean if things are still on plan than that almost 30 incn tall, 30 pound Unicron from Haslab is finally shipping end of March. Absolutely had to secure one for my collection. Last edited by PlanckEpoch; 03-11-2021 at 12:20 PM.. |

I agree and as bad as it might sound I would rather walk in to empty pegs instead of racks of figures that wont sell. It might be smart to keep demand up and supply low to keep this line going.

Just my two cents. Other toylines are NOT having the same problem.. I can go into Target any day of the week and see pegs full of McFarlane DC, Fortnite, Transformers, etc. And while Marvel Legends do fly off the pegs, they at least get produced and shipped. |

Most of your argument is why toys in general are less prevalent on the shelves - but nothing you said can excuse the Classified line not being on the pegs.

Only place I see them is GameStop. Thats just location and demographics. As bad as it sounds The future is online for the toys we actually want.

Empty pegs can kill a line just a fast if not faster then peg warmers. All over the fandom people are dropping like flies when it comes to collecting Classified. Some people are able to get the figures in abundance, while most keep running into a a brick wall when trying to get them. Keeping supply low is a terrible idea, because it will eventually kill off the demand when people get frustrated enough. |

I used to see those toys you mentioned restocked, but now , I don’t see most of the toys you mentioned on shelves or pegs man. Once they sold I don’t see them restock.

I am willing to cut them a tiny bit if slack being a new toyline and maybe the higher ups wouldn't commit to more figures without knowing if they would sell.. But this year going forward, they for damn sure better be producing full waves at regular intervals. If they don't put out at least 4 waves of 5-6 new figures this year, there is no excuse |

Maybe frustration will turn some people from the line but it doesn't seem to be hurting it yet they still seem to sell out pretty quick and more than likely will continue to do so.

I really do think the issue with GI JOE is that Hasbro's plan was to roll out wave one and then start the movie waves with a Classic JOE or two thrown into each wave like Marvel does with the Movie lines where you get some comic versions too. Because of the delays in the movie release, they are basically pushing out figures that would have been 4 or five waves deep before seeing the light of day, and the production schedule for those figures probably still reflects the original release plans. I am extremely frustrated, but I can see some of the problems they might be running into.
