Found a CC and GH yesterday.
Pegs empty, asked at guest service. Guy didn't even look it up. Saw G.I.Joe and said "we don't have them. If the shelf is empty, we don't have it." I says "the kiosk says you have 7 in the store (4 floor, 3 back)." "The system is slow." Bullspit. Their system has had 7 listed for well over a week. I go to electronics and ask a lady, show her a picture of the tag. She scans it and goes to the back. Returns in minutes with GH and CC. I put GH on the peg (I already have it) and buy CC. I also took a picture of the receipt with the item number and date, for the next store that tries that street date BS. Hit 2 more Targets today. Pop said they both have more than 5 figures, kiosks at both show they have figures, BOTH tell me they don't have them. At the first, the lady didn't even use the hand-held. She saw G.I.Joe and said "we don't have any. We'll put them out and people buy 3 at a time." I mentioned the kiosk numbers, she said she can check the back if I want her to and I said "if you don't mind." She gave a non-virbal "oh, man" eye-roll, turned and left. Returned and said nothing back there. Next store I asked a couple new guys, one went to check, came back said he was told they don't have any. Walking out, I remembered this was the same store that last week told me they HAVE them, but they're street dated. Thinking the new guy asked the same person and when they heard "G.I.Joe" they automatically said no, don't have them. There will be a rematch. I might even get a manager involved here. Which is something I noticed; seems like when the name G.I.Joe is in the question, they won't even look, just reflexively say no. Several employees have mentioned how popular they are, fast sellers, etc. Why, Target, WHY must I do this dance with employees to spend money with you!? Why, Hasbro, did you put your products in such a retail chain that plays games and LIES to customers?! |

I've had similar experiences with the cobra island stuff. Not even when target sold all their cobra troopers before the release date and lied to me when I asked about them when they did show stock.
When I bought my Cobra Commander, and Gung Ho. I noticed a GI Joe classifieds case on the stockers rack he had all the toy cases on. So I asked him to open the case, he gave me 2 cc and 2 ghs. He tried to sell me more, but this lady seemed like his supervisor said "he can't buy them all" I interupted and said "I am not buying them all". With that I quit asking about the cobra red ninja, or even the cobra trooper popfndr said they had. Felt like I was being pushed away. |

This is in no way directed at you bro, but as someone who works in retail I COMPLETELY understand why workers ignore requests for Joes even if they do have them. GI Joe classified is the hot item right now and the last thing a retail employee who is already treated rather poorly needs is a bunch of grown men pestering them about something that seems trivial (at least to the workers) that they'll have to sift throught the often chaotic back room to find. I know that some folks here think that the workers are just being mean and others (ridiculously) think that somehow the workers are stashing them for themselves, but the truth is that most retail workers simply do not have the energy or time to bother with something that seems (to them) to be so trivial and childish.

Speaking of that, has anyone else taken the survey, left an e-mail addy, been contacted and never receive a follow up? Three times so far I've received emails asking for item numbers or whatnot, and after I reply I don't hear from them. Nice customer service. Quote:

During my time in retail, I can't remember that I EVER told a customer we were out of stock when I knew we had the item. If they don't have the "energy or time" to help a customer buy WHATEVER it is they want to buy, they have the wrong job. They are being PAID to "sift through" the stock room, hot item or not. And employees ABSOLUTELY do stash stuff.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing!

If there is a customer within 10 feet of you, you contact them and see if you can help. If you see a customer standing close while helping another customer, you have 10 seconds to tell the standing customer you will be right with them. Just because many retail employees don't make a ton of money is no reason to ignore or lie to customers. Good employees move up the chain of command (better pay) quickly and excellect customer service/interaction is the best way to do that. No excuses. Honestly, I was trying to get outta there and hustle over to Walmart. LoL There were other things going on as well, but believe me, I took the survey and told the whole story, and surveys are visible at store level.
Speaking of that, has anyone else taken the survey, left an e-mail addy, been contacted and never receive a follow up? Three times so far I've received emails asking for item numbers or whatnot, and after I reply I don't hear from them. Nice customer service. Haha, I was thinking the same thing! And employees ABSOLUTELY do stash stuff. I will continue to do surveys in the future, for both good and bad experiences at Target. Yeet, man, you're my boy and all, but you're wrong here. If You work in retail, it's your job to help the customer purchase items. Purchasing items is the whole reason the store exists. Hate to keep sounding like a broken record, but Target now pays a minimum of $15 an hour, which is damn good pay in some parts of the country. If you can't be bothered to look for an item for $15 an hour, then maybe you shouldn't be working in retail. Lastly, I know some have said that they think the brown eyes variant of Beach head is the most common. I'm starting to feel more and more confident that that is wrong. I feel pretty confident that the blue eyes version is far more common. I've looked at a lot of listings on eBay. Hard to say for sure without knowing the actual production numbers, just basing it on what I've seen. Also mention that I took a picture of my blue eyes Beach head, and I'll be damned if they don't look Brown in the photo. You have to look real close at an eBay listing before you can tell for sure, and sometimes even then you can't tell for sure.

Not really. When I was in retail I knew a lot of good employees were often passed over for better positions, in favor for employees who were well-liked. Favoritism was definitely a problem.
