Target's system is broken, its the same problem that happened when the exclusive figures launched, and its been happening for at least a year, as random Transformers show up with "Street dates" even though they've been out for months. I suspect its never getting fixed. If you find the figures on the shelf, the'll sell fine at check out. If you give someone the 3310 DPCI to pull from the back, it won't show the "Street date" However, if you have them look up the figure by name, or scan the barcode on the box in a scanner, it will show the "street date" and the employee will not know what's going on and pull the figure. I saw a Collectors site podcast video on FB that shows two handheld devices at Target showing the Baroness and Beach Head discontinued.

The faster these are out of Targets, the faster Hasbro might do a full re-release like they just did with a lot Star Wars and Marvel Legends exclusives. I wouldn't mind seeing these show up at BBTS or Pulse in the next six months.

I'm still not sure I believe this, given the hand held devices role in the August 14 nonsense, but this might be a silver lining.

If these figures are discontinued after all of West Michigan had maybe a total of 6-7 of these Baroness figures available (and NEVER hit the shelves), that is a damn shame.
I don't even want to think of the miles I drove from store to store just trying to get there before the stock disappeared. Then I'd get there and there would be nothing to be found or an employee would tell me someone else bought what was available about an hour before I got there. Until this brand revitalization started, I had been out of the toy game for many years so things have changed and I guess I just had different expectations for how it all would go. The last time I was buying figures was when they had all those o-ring repaint Valor vs Venom TRU exclusives in the early-mid '00s. Fun times. |

Toys don't have street dates. The date is the online "pre-order arrival date" which their handheld has labeled as a street date for some reason.

They've also apparently shown things as "discontinued" in the handheld devices when all it really means is "not currently available in the warehouse" or something. I remember this coming up for something before then whatever the item is came back a month or so later.
