The Baroness looks very nice, honestly prefer this look to one with gold armor highlights and the pink highlight color, in her hair. Nice little nod to Spy troops calling the motorcycle the COBRA C.O.I.L., not too sure about that snake gun she has however.
Roadblock being released again is what it is, at lest he is not just another straight up repaint (*cough CC, *hack SE) Beach Head looks good, just not a fan of the beret. attached to the shoulder yes. Wearing it seems off with the mask on, but an unmasked head would be perfect. I can see this being reused for other characters tho(Falcon, Dusty, Flint, etc). COBRA Trooper looks good and nice touch adding that officers tab for army builders. I would expect to see that mold again as exclusives in grey for the Stinger driver and in black as a homage to the DG figure. I'm getting a very cartoon vibe from all this, updated cobra island, Easter eggs in the art work. Feeling like there is more to be revealed...either from a show announcement or the game that is coming out. |

Same here. It also has me wondering if there's more to the Retro Line that's already been developed further than the upcoming Scarlett, Destro and Roadblock.

Roadblock is the first figure in the line I hate. Genuinely hate it. Hate the head mold, hate the colour scheme. All of it. Doesn't suit Roadblock one bit. Looks like a new character. Probably would have been more accepting as a new character. Beachhead works fine. The beret looks fucking stupid, but it makes sense. Not sure why Beachhead has such broad shoulders, that's new for him. You can really see the quality go down the toilet here with the loss of painted weapons. Wave 1 look like premium toys compared to this. Cobra Trooper is the star of the lot. Looks like a merger of the Viper, Trooper and Renegades Trooper. Works really well. It's new, familiar, fresh and looks good. All I wanted. Obvious base for Alley Viper though, which I don't mind. I think all the specialty vipers being mods of the trooper is a good idea. I think Power Rangers look terrible. I would reinvent them and change them radically to try and make them more to my liking before I would ever consider collecting them. It's a perfectly valid opinion that also means I am not a Power Rangers fan. You may not want to change everything about G.I. Joe, but the more about it someone wants to change, the less of a fan they are. By definition they like less about Joe than someone who doesn't want to change anything. It's just rock solid common sense and logic. Don't step into a fandom and boast about how you want everything to be changed and want gold stripes to be painted on everything, etc., and think your opinion is just going to be tolerated and accepted without any criticism. That smacks of the notorious type of Hollywood producer who would adapt a big comic book or video game into a movie and immediately decide to change everything about the story because he thinks he knows better than the people who made the property a hit in the first place. The classic 1980s ARAH Joe designs are not outdated, not boring, not bland and don't need to be changed. They are brilliant, iconic, perfect and should be honored, respected and faithfully replicated in any new Joe line. Notice the upcoming Jada Toys metal line that replicates the original 1980s designs exactly. No company and creative team should be so arrogant that they think they know better how to redesign a line that created a massive fan base and went to the top of the sales charts in its original incarnation. There is always room in Joe to create new costumes and characters as the line goes on, but any proper line paying due respect to the original creators and fans should START with the original designs first. Nostalgia is what drives toy sales now and it's what every other action figure line based on an old property is catering to these days. Last edited by JediJones; 07-21-2020 at 07:18 AM.. |

My gut feeling is we will see the Cobra Trooper several times down the line since they just have to change up the equipment to claim another version. Who knows we might even get something like how Pulse gave the Hydra Trooper and AIM army builder minimum gear and a cardboard box to release a trooper builder option for fans.
Which would work for me because I'm not too much of a fan of that oversized vest. The mission concept is a cool touch to not only make a nod to the past but to make it easier to keep up with the different waves. Best of luck to everyone on the pre-ordering. |

The Sideshow Beachhead also had an optional red beret. Not sure if a wearable beret ever came on a Hasbro Beachhead before.
https://news.hisstank.com/2010/05/21...d-gallery-9371 Nope, because then in your display you have to bench one of the Roadblocks, so early in the line when there are hardly enough figures to even make a battle scene. Simple, if you want G.I. Joe as it is to be changed, altered and compromised, you by definition are not as much of a fan as someone who likes G.I. Joe just fine as it is. If you take iconic designs and think you need to crap them up with "bling" and bizarre weapon, costume and color changes, then you must not think Joe is good enough as it is. How can someone think that way about Joe and call themselves a fan? I think Power Rangers look terrible. I would reinvent them and change them radically to try and make them more to my liking before I would ever consider collecting them. It's a perfectly valid opinion that also means I am not a Power Rangers fan. You may not want to change everything about G.I. From your logic unless you only like and buy the original first 3 years worth of GI Joe, you are not a true fan? All these characters have undergone countless revisions, new sculpts, new costumes, sci fi details, and "blinging up". Stop living in a fantasy world where GI Joe only had one design that is all that is somehow acceptable and anyone who accepts other GI Joe designs are not fans. Definition of toxic fandom. Accept you just have an opinion, we all do, but don't go around crapping on other peoples likes and preferences as if you somehow are some more pure fan |

Can’t help noticing that Beach Head’s sweater would be appropriate for a V1 Snake Eyes, or that with a just a different head, ninja wristguards, and different weapons he could also be a template for a 1991 style Snake Eyes, who would pair well with the upcoming arctic Storm Shadow. I love all four of these reveals, which feels really great after not loving the wave 2 offerings, and being disappointed that SS and Baroness weren’t revealed. Hoping for 1x Baroness, 2x Cobra Trooper, 1x Heavy Duty / Freight / Character to be Named Later (who is awesome but not RB in my book), 1x Beach Head. At that point will just need regular classified Storm Shadow (already preordered arctic) and Stalker to feel like a well-rounded first year, though a goggled Snake Eyes would be the icing on the cake. Good luck on the preorders everyone! |

You are just fandom gatekeeping, stop trying to say who is and isn't fans as an excuse for your complaints.
