So, I did some quick comparison using the same site, (+ some snooping) and this is what I can conclude.
G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout has a maturity rating higher than Fortnite and PUBG (M vs. PG). G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout has a maturity rating lower than Call Of Duty games (M vs. M15+). Therefore, when it comes to violence, this new Joe game stands between Fortnite and COD. Operation Blackout is now the highest maturity rated G.I. Joe game by dethroning Rise of Cobra (M vs. PG). Game developer is not mentioned anywhere. GameMill Entertainment is acting as the 'middleman' for the deal. Speaking of which, Andy Koehler (of GameMill) has previously worked with Hasbro and Activision for their multi-year partnership (which ended a couple of years back). He is involved with this project as well, it seems. |

I just hope that whatever they do, it's not another FPS. Can't wait to see what it's all about.
It's listed as "multi-platform", which tends to mean at least Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo if Nintendo is playing nice and possibly PC. I hope Nintendo IS playing nice, as it would be just one more piece of incentive for me to buy a Switch. |

Honestly all they have to do is re-skin Battlefront and I’m good. Heroes can be the usual classic characters. Maybe make the various classes more customizable to look like whoever you want so you effectively choose your own team. That stupid droid tank can be the Hiss tank, stuff like that.

So can we change it up and call 2020 the year of the Joe Pandemic? It has more of a positive spin.

Also, here's what Transformers is getting for a console game this fall: https://outrightgames.com/games/transformers/ So I would measure my expectations for a console game we're only hearing about a few months ahead of release from a mid-tier publisher. My expectations are a 3rd person shooter in the vein of Transformers Devastation or Rise of Cobra. Maybe a squad based tactical game like XCom if they were being saucy.

I will preface by saying that I know it would never happen but I would love a G.I.JOE game built on the same engine as "PSI-OPS: The Mindgate Conspiracy" which is still to this day the best game I've ever played. The abilities and gameplay were so awesome! Granted the "Psi" abilities would need to be changed to resemble combat abilities of Joes or Cobras but that world is perfect for G.I.JOE.

Why can’t a small company just make a retro arcade game like someone made a while back. Or even NES style GI Joe 3. I’m not asking for much.

For me personally i really hope it's not a FPS like Call of Duty.
I would love a turn based strategy game where you can either decide to be GI Joe or Cobra and have some kind of invasion/ conquest mode. Then have fights for resources all over the globe, so you could have cool Artic, Jungle, Desert, Urban, Rural, At Sea, Undersea fight environments. Starting off with a basic team and having to recruit more members as the campaign expands. Could have missions to capture either Joe/Cobra leaders, stealth aspects. |

Not a gamer, but in this day and age, crucial to have this kind of exposure - glad Hasbro realizes this.
