Sounds like you are talking about the mobile game lol (like destroying bases part) as for me I hope it’s like the Modern Warfare or Ghosts type Call of Duty games with elements like the following

The developer's games aren't usually massive titles mind you, often smaller digital released, really not one would consider AAA big title but they put out some decent games still. Be great to get a full on GI JOE video game.

I think a Overwatch or Apex legends like hero shooter would be perfect fit for GI Joe

Maximum Games is a publisher, which means that they will most likely have minimal involvement in the actual game production. That being said, if this is happening, then they are probably working with a company that has a good idea for a G.I. Joe game, which could be any combination of styles, based on the prior games Maximum has published.

I'm selfish and would love to have a GTA or Red Dead style game in a giant sandbox with a combination of random free-roam events and actual mission-based gameplay. Throw in a robust online mode with co-op teams and showdown modes and the game would be pretty near perfect in my mind. Straight mission-based games like Call of Duty are nice, but once you beat a level a few times the wow factor wears off pretty quickly (at least in my opinion, which is all the more reason why any G.I. Joe game would need a robust online component for variety and longevity).

Hopefully there will be more news coming soon, as a game may be farther along in development than anyone realizes. The mobile game kind to took people by surprise when it initially launched.

Actually, the game being rated means it's done. I checked the original listing for War On Cobra and it seems as though the official announcement came within a month from the rating. Same goes for the Transformers: Battlegrounds game and the latest Crash Bandicoot console game. So, there is a pattern. I have a feeling that the announcement will come at SDCC.

Your post shows a June 25th release date, too. Obviously pushed back, but that should be further evidence that it’s about ready to go/drop!

I'm not really into the video games but I wouldn't mind giving this a shot. Let me ask though, is this just for computers? Or is it also available for XBOX, Playstation, etc....?

It's listed as "multi-platform", which tends to mean at least Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo if Nintendo is playing nice and possibly PC. I hope Nintendo IS playing nice, as it would be just one more piece of incentive for me to buy a Switch.
