Give me an example of "it" being forced down on "us". I'm African-American and I've loved comics, cartoons, and toys and the vast majority of what I loved growing up had white male leads... and it wasn't even close. Was that being forced on me? I didn't think so at the time, but maybe you're on to something...

Strong female character yes, feminist no. If she is like Jyn Erso we are in for a treat, but that is probably not going to be the case (look at what marvel DC ans SW did with Captain Marvel, Batwoman, and That purple haired lady from the Last Jedi).

I don't want to argue about race because that seems to be a very touchy subject, and I do not want to be banned from Hisstank for upsetting someone, or for seemingly attacking them. But if you wish to discuss it further I can find a way to contact you on discord, or maybe Reddit. Last edited by Stormtrooper12; 05-01-2020 at 11:29 PM.. |

Here are three examples: Captain Marvel, The Last Jedi, and Batwoman (the cw show). And I don';t think that stuff was being forced down on you, admittedly the US was still going through some racial tensions, but most of the time stuff was like it was because it worked, and there was diversity every where, but Chuck Norris, and all the Schwarzenegger ripoffs seemed to drown it out a bit.

For Batwoman and Marvel I was talking about their new incarnations. Also I have some things to do tonight, and in the morning, so I will get back to you later, sorry for skipping out on you.

I like Jyn Erso a lot. Rouge One was my favorite of all the Disney Star Wars films. I always thought younger girls were the target audience for Captain Marvel so it being girl power made sense to me. I thought it was ok for what it was but my step daughters loved it so I was happy with it. The Last Jedi was a mess for a million reasons so I never focused too much on any one aspect. Batwoman, never saw it so I can't comment on it.

Mixed emotions on this news.
I mean I kinda excited, but also on some level I know that while they have to consider what comes after, we're still not at what comes next. I want the SE film to be amazing...hell I also wanted the last two films to be amazing so confirming a film after SE seems a little premature considering we don't know how well SE is gonna fare. |

Isn't that the sad truth. R1 was pretty good, and I still haven't checked out Mandalorian, but the others were bad enough to make the prequels look good.

The trend with all these loved franchises is to substitute well established characters for the sake of a political agenda and that is why they fail. G I Joe was a diverse a set of characters and I love it. Princess Leia was a strong female character in the original SW films and I loved it. The problem is that storylines and plots are not as important as the race, sexuality or political ideology of the characters that they want to push. We had strong female characters growing up Leia in SW, WonderWoman, Ursa in Superman and we loved them. The problem today is the over masculinization of the female characters. A feminine beautiful woman can be much stronger than a man without the need to give her masculine traits.
