And yes these new troopers appear to be way more durable than the earlier Retro toys (and previous modern Joes at that) |

"Way more durable" huh? Now I'm really curious to get one of these new Troopers in hand and am at the mercy of Walmart.com shipping for that.
Someone should photograph one in the HISS or HISS III turret. |

Had Stalker for a while. Love him though I wish the Leg Screws were still there for customization.

I haven't opened the retro trooper I got but I have opened the poc/30th ones and they seem to hold up well. Would be interested to see who holds up better when given to a kid. Someone should do a experiment.

Now I'll add that I consider the "old" ME stuff far superior as shelf pieces, and as an adult who literally handles once and displays (with plenty of swear words thrown in as I attempt to gear them up), I 100% prefer the older stuff. Aesthetically speaking, artistically speaking, they are leagues better. But for a kid? These new Joes look like a win in almost all regards. I'm not buying them, but I think if they finally find their footing from a marketing standpoint (i.e. appealing to other generations than our own), they could rival much of what's currently out there. I kinda get the feeling that Hasbro was going for that- toys first, and if they end up collectibles as well, then all the better. The previous Joes seemed to toss the toy aspect out the window in favor of fan service BJs, and it ultimately didn't end well (despite what our particular social bubble would have you believe.) These ultimately ended up not being for me- but that's the way it should be, if the brand is to survive. The narcissistic asshole in me wants to see POC-later continue so roster holes are filled, prices drop, etc, etc. In fact, seeing the last two wave (or 4 figures... Whatever), made me realize those roster holes aren't going to be filled, ultimately pushing me to abandon ME altogether in favor of the originals. But I know its the only way forward, and if that's how they get the kids back and keep a legacy going, then I'm cool with that. End long winded, know-it-all post.

I stopped at a random Walmart between Houston and Austin today, and someone had an armful of the black HISS tanks for $6.21 each. He gave me one to give to my son. Pretty awesome.

If so, were the early Retro waves produced in China, and therefore that was the reason for the usage? If so, how is the Retro HISS Driver and now Rip-It still using the POC Shock Trooper torso and ROC Zartan lower arms? My understanding is the tooling is very expensive to create. Seems odd to abandon those resources completely. I've also seen it posted that the molds are heavy and too cumbersome move, but that seems odd too. FMF successfully did so when they changed factories for EFR and the pictures didn't look too large - and they're just an Indie company. Wow - first I've heard of this. Was this officially confirmed by Hasbro as well? For the same reasons posted above that seems strange to destroy expensive molds that belong to the company. Not questioning you guys personally, just trying to understand. If all this is true then we'll never see the final Concept Vault pieces - and that's a bummer. Any clearance AWEs out there? Wish they'd put both back online so I could get at least one before all gone. FFS

I've seen a lot of speculation on this. Has Hasbro ever officially confirmed they no longer have access to all previous tooling?
