Looks like it was made in Vietnam. So they were able to transfer over, or reproduce the POC CT torso and upper arms, but that seems about it. Too bad they couldn't have done that for all of that figure, and all of the Shock trooper parts too.

I'm annoyed by how much I want to buy a few of those even though I already have four HISS tanks, including the 2000 era blue one that came with o-ring Rip It. It really is such a great, simple vehicle with a design that is unforgettable.

Hmm. Could be that Stalker, Trooper, and FANG were created just to buy time as China molds were brought over. This HISS and driver may be straight rereleases now for the sake of time, but as more molds come over, we may see more variety. It would be nice if, as they bring stuff over to this new factory, they do a complete inventory where they actually know where all of their molds are at any given time and no more are "lost" for years only to reappear.
Topic pivot. Does anyone know what the next 3 3/4" Joe's are supposed to be? Everyone here got the blue HISS dead bang before it was found in the wild, so I'm curious what the wave will be after Stalker and CT. Last edited by Stygian; 07-21-2021 at 10:51 AM.. |

Hasbro could move all production to the U.S., and be Real American Heroes.

Seeing 80's video tape footage of Hasbro factory workers in Rhode Island putting together Star Wars and other toys on The Toys That Made Us reminds me of better times and of what could be still... if onshore manufacturing of toys was even a thing any longer.

Yeah, definitely see some "dirt" on those treads. More subtle than on the OG HISS III, which is a good thing. Also really like the darker, more classic Cobra blue. Although I liked the Hiss III back in the day, and still like it now, I had always wished they had gone Rattler blue.
It looks like they dropped the dark canopy glass, which is something I really liked about the HISS III. Gunner turret is blue instead of black now too, a change I'm indifferent to. All in all, a cool looking Cobra vehicle. Not sure if I'll pick up a couple, but I'm tempted as I'm a sucker for classic vehicles and classic color schemes.
