If we don’t get a box set of the O13 using that stalker mold that would suck. Get some rolled up sleeves and the original characters out as an anniversary set set next year and I’d be in Joe heaven!

Q-tips no, but we currently ran out, and I use them in both my customizing , and as a tool for applying glue or paint in the classroom, or for blending pencils. They will go quickly. Yeah, it is noticeable. The price goes up and the quality and net weight or count goes down. The suspense has me on the edge of my seat.

My daughter found me a Stalker and Cobra Trooper this morning.
Luckily 2 x Stalker so I had my opener. In hand, great figure! I like the head sculpt. No super tight joints. Good looking Camo. Just a really nice figure. And one that wasn’t announced. That’s a head scratcher!

I wouldn't put it past them.

Besides, it could have been a Screaming Duke (which I fully expect the delayed figure to be). So 1 Co Co and 2000 q-tips, but 1 figure to be shipped at a later date-time will tell.

I've gots lots to unpack about the new Retro wave. But for now:
Wave 4 found: Found wave 4 (Stalker, Cobra Troopers), Kansas, 1.2 miles away from me this afternoon, first stop on a toy run cut short. Not meant to brag, just to show the availiblity (may be lots more at other nearby stores). I was reading about all the finds at this forum Wednesday, and felt compelled to make a mini-run that night at around 9pm. No luck at the two closest Walmarts I checked that night--but in consolidation found 4 Target CI Major Bludd's, just bought 2, hopefully as good karma for the next guy. Wave 4 haul: 2 Troopers and 3 Stalkers on the shelves. My goal was to pick up two of each if possible--one to mess around with and one as insurance if my experiments went horribly wrong. Ended up clearing the shelf, thinking 3 Stalkers was a bit too much, but I'd find something to do with that 3rd... Wave 3 sighted: I've seen Wave 3 Duke and CC in multiple Kansas stores (as well as Missouri, Kansas City side) since maybe..April? Haven't seen LJ on shelf at all. No major pegwarming on these guys, despite what I predicted a while ago. It's a good thing since I'm not drowning in these guys instead of Wave 4, but bad that Hasbro can get away with putting out that Duke without penalty. FANGs literally everywhere, but I'm not interested--maybe on clearance? Remember that old familiar line that crippled the 25th line? No guilt for me since I cleared their figures today, and left them their "moneymakers" (7-8 FANGS). Wave 4 early thoughts: Still too early to say. I will admit this wave was the most exciting to find simply because of seeing and assessing new figure builds//construction, good or bad. The play value for a customizer is very very high. I haven't opened the Trooper yet, but have opened and messed with Stalker. Not what I expected: he's a great figure so far. The 3 I have won't be enough, and I'm continuing the search tonight after dark for more (and for more Target CI figures for bonus). Until then, going through the fodder box for larger Hawk and Snake Eyes heads (and so it begins again)... |

Quick shot. No mods except to squint the eyes a little (scrape eyepatch at lower lid. Left is unfiltered, right is 80% glam edits.

Here are my thoughts on all of the Retro figures so far. My rating scale is: Great, good, average, poor, Piss poor.
SE: Great Figure!!! Yes, he's missing his commando head, but I was able to get multiple for Customs, mainly my Plague Trooper team. I know he's a repack, but he's the best version of ME SE IMO. SS: Great Figure: Yes he's a repack, but he's the 2nd best ME version for SS IMO. I got multiples to make a Cobra Ninja Viper team, and will do some more customs soon. Baroness: Average figure: Yes it's a repack, but her body sculpt still holds up today. She could have used a new head sculpt. I like HHFF's partially minimized SDCC Baroness head for her. That would require too much work for Hasbro though. Hiss Driver: Good Figure: I like everything about it except the legs are stuck in a wide stance. Crank Case: Poor Figure: The New head and helmet do not make up for the crappy 25th parts used for the rest of the figure. There were better parts out there for him. Scarlett: Good figure: The use of the Helix legs, and new head sculpt barely puts this figure in the good category. I really dislike the torso they used. At least this is the best ever ME head for Scarlett. Destro: Great Figure!!! Yes it's a repack, but he comes in a great Deco pattern, and his knees are straight. I was able to get a few to correct my 50th Destro and Red Jackal legs. Roadblock: Average figure: The Torso and gun are great, but the legs really killed this figure for me. Limited articulation is not acceptable. The head is not RB, but it makes a good Col. Courage. Fang Pilot: Piss Poor figure: The lankiness, huge feet, and open hands make this look like a Chap Mai figure. If I wanted that, I would get one of those figures then. Lady Jaye: Average figure. The legs , torso, and gun are good, but she wasn't all that great of a figure the first time she was released. CC: Poor figure: I like the legs, but they just don't go with that 25th torso. If they would have used the 50th torso and arms he would have been a great figure. I would have gotten multiples to make customs. Duke: Piss poor figure. I don't understand the use of the 25th parts, when many of us on here have come up with better kitbashes. Just check out the "Put up your Dukes" thread on here. CT: Piss poor figure: Same reasons as the Fang Pilot. It's just lanky, and looks cheap. Stalker: Great Figure. I really like the head sculpt and size, and the new thicker thighs do not make the figure look too lanky like the CT. I can't wait to pick a few up!!! |

Appreciate the review 46Zone. I would agree with just about all of it. Except for..
Cobra Trooper. Proportionately he doesn't look all that bad IMO and I would say he is definitely better that the 25th CT so I would give him an Average Score. Ranking all the Modern era troopers I would say he fits somewhere in the middle. RB I would say is just below average but not piss poor and say he is just decent. I don't mind those legs so much but I also dont care for the head as an RB head but like the idea of it being a good choice for Col. Courage. the torso I am not a fan of though for me the Green is just too loud.

I'm lazy and don't feel like going back through the thread - what's the arm fix for the FANG Pilot and Cobra trooper?
