Would the newer figures work with the WHALE? My memories of the WHALE is that while it worked with the old figures it was still a tight fit. My vote for O-ring/ 3.75 figures is grounded in the fact that they worked well with all the old vehicles. It’s been hit or miss with the new figures & old vehicles.

Realistically though, I'm betting the next Retro vehicle will be the Skyhawk to counter the FANG like the AWE did the HISS. While I'd likely get it, I'd prefer to see something along the lines of the Wolverine with Covergirl.

Because of things like this, size, retailer reluctance, etc; beyond HasLab, I don't think the WHALE is realistic for retail. I hope Hasbro throws us a HasLab bone after the movie and lets us put our money where our mouths are. I promise I'm down for at least 3.

I highly doubt a retro line that's Walmart exclusive will get a HasLab, though I'd love to be proven wrong.
That said, the Barge is what reignited fans for SW TVC. I had left the line after 2012 and jumped back in with both feet the second I saw the Barge unveiled at Toy Fair. A proper Joe HasLab would have the same effect on me as I'm not fully into retro thus far due to figure build choice and lack of availability. The line needs that WOW anchor that draws folks in. Endless kit-bashes and repaints won't do that. Someone needs to start up a retro HasLab petition and publicize it so Hasbro sees. TVC fans do this regularly and have had some success. As I said before the next Retro Joe vehicle should be a Wolverine with an FSS Covergirl but with a new head.
The next Retro Cobra vehicle should be a Ret. Ninja Combat Cruiser painted in Stinger colors and it comes with a Concept Vault Cobra Stinger Driver. I would buy about 5 of those.

Just found the FANG. I've seen a couple of video's on YouTube where the left arm busts off, luckily mine didn't have that problem. It's not a bad looking figure I dont like that they replaced the metal T with the plastic, eventually it will wear down and snap because of the size. Had to pick up though for the new body design marvel universe construction meets G.I.JOE. The FANG itself it's okay but the tail is way to close to the jet engine.
