On the other hand, it did not feel that way, having scored a few new head sculpts.

It doesn't seem like anyone's pointed out that we're a month away from Walmart's formal Retro Wave 3 release date, so the idea that it's "dead" may come as a surprise to the retailer who still hasn't technically released all the announced product.

Same here. We could have had the best figures ever created but people would have found something to complain about. It is human nature. I just wish I would have kept my pre order for the fang because unless that thing shows up at Ross I dont think we will be seeing it again.

Don't know why everyone is so down. They didn't reveal anything non-movie related product for any other lines. They mentioned the Retro line at least twice. If it's going away,I don't think they would've talked about it at all. Also, Star Wars Vintage collection had a bunch of reveals. I know Star Wars its own beast but those reveals can only be good news for 4" fans.
Walmart doesn't even know they sell them :p

So if they produced the secondary 6 inch kids Snake Line as a 4 inch line and kept everything the same and charged $12 for it are we really supposed to believe that would have made less money that a $10 6 inch line? It’s less product materials and packaging materials. Consumers already pay $12 for 4 inch figures. Sure some of us would have complained, but most of us would have bought them to buy 4 inch mass retail Joes that are sort of highly articulated. Also consumers are used to buying 4 inch kids lines right now with Fortnite. Just not sure why that isn’t enough for Hasbro to produce a 4 inch retro style Movie line. I’d even been fine with the kids figures at 4 inch being called Retro because the looks are closer to classic Joe than classified.

It’s why 60s/70s kids chose 12”, and 80s/90s kids chose 4”.

Has anyone else noticed how the Scarlett head from the 6" kids movie line looks a lot like the Retro Scarlett head. Did they just shrink that head down for the retro head? Weren't the movie figs supposed to come out before the W2 Retro line?

That’s what I wanted, too...but I have to believe their research arm thinks that kids want 6”, not 4”. Hard to say if that’s really true or not, because the market is saturated with 6” and hardly any 4”, aside from Fortnite. If kids don’t have much of a choice, of course they’ll choose 6”.
It’s why 60s/70s kids chose 12”, and 80s/90s kids chose 4”. I’m INCLINED to say at least part of the reason for the 6” preference is because it allows the “kid line” to be complementary to the “collector line”. I doubt Akiko will get a “kids version”, so being in scale allows the few kids that get into the line hard to compliment each segment with characters from the other. And to be honest, I dig the two kids line Storm Shadows a LOT more than the “proper” movie version in Classified. But scale is cyclical in the toy industry. 4” is making an impact thanks to Fortnite, Batman/DC, and Halo. 6” holds almost all the collector lines, plus kid compliments like WWE, Power Rangers, Marvel and now GI Joe. Who knows, though. Maybe we’ll get some new 4” Joe line next year once the brand re-establishes itself. Maybe Classified will just putter along with the kids lines being little spurts here and there. We’ll just have to wait and see. Quote:
Hasbro likely just made a “Classic Scarlett” headsculpt, and then reused the file for both the Retro figure and Ninja Core figure.
