All they had to do was leave out a pilot or slap in a 30th/50th Cobra Trooper, or use the SDCC 2017 Officer build, use the 25th FANG version mold as is, leave the package art alone and it would have been one hot item!

I am not knocking the art, but the design is too busy for me. Too bad it didn't transfer well into the sculpt. They sculpted him too lanky.

The Fang is a new sculpt, but the awe and Hisstank are basically reused 25th molds as they have the 25th footpegs.

The FANG pilot design isn't bad. The issues like the big feet, floppy hips, and mistooled elbows stem back to low quality manufacturing.

But at this point they should probably abandon the tooling rather than remaking it. Digitally shrink the Classified Cobra Infantry design and use the 80's Cobra Trooper art. Granted that they aren't criminally underproduced, you could then swap the FANG pilot head onto that body for some variety. Give the vehicle another try in a few years.

Thanks to the early reviewers alerting about the difficult stiff elbow joints, I knew well enough to heat and disassemble the action figure before working the joints and reassembling. Now all articulation joints work just fine.

One gripe I do have, that I don’t remember others mentioning already, is that the large feet have a newly sized larger hole (hexagonal shaped) on the underside, and with no battle stand (figure stand) included for these newly sized feet.

My solution for now is to add an extra Cobra Officer stand with this figure, but first I had to drill an additional set of smaller holes (sized 3/32 of an inch) slightly aft of the new hexagonal holes.

I don’t recognize these. I chose not to fill them in, just in case they are planning on using these for some future product play feature.

It doesn’t make any sense to me, because all of the other Walmart Retro vehicles and stands which are part of this product line are using the former smaller round holes which we are accustomed to.
