Oh for sure man. I broke my collar bone in gym class when I was 11 and spent the rest of the gym classes for the remainder of the school year having the class room to myself. I used to design my own Joes for 45 min every week.

I'll admit that during the marketing presentations for retro
I felt some of the presentations were ridiculous. "Look at this brand new figure stand" (that we've had since 25th anniversary) haha. I figured that might be a script he had to read or maybe he was nervous. But he does seem like he has enthusiasm and a good personality.

I noticed that hair is given much detail, just like Classified Duke & Flint. And seeing the sculptor a few Hasbro Pulse back, I understood why. Just saying ;-D

Can someone explain the benefit of having such a wide disc piece for the joints? It's about 1.5 times the width of a 50th figure. Has anyone seen this "thickness" in a joint before? I don't like it as it makes the joint engineering more noticeable. IDK. It just seems off to me.

RIGHT?! And did you see how he had the HISS Tank body laying backward on the treads in the background?

Well, those screen shots and the ones I've seen on Facebook were enough to make me cancel my preorder. I kind of like the helmet, but that's about it. I'm ok with the added thigh and boot articulation, but overall (to me) this figure just doesn't look as good of quality as normal GIJoe figures. This looks more in line with some cheap Corps! figure. Easy pass for me, and if this sculpting is the route Hasbro is going for the remainder of the line, including Snake Eyes movie, then I'll be officially out of the game and making the crossover exclusively to Marauders.

Maybe the joint has a snap-in peg, which requires a thicker body. Just guessing here. I'd be interested in seeing a better review from a customizer who actually takes the time to boil and pop the figure into pieces.

I just watched the Mark Weber video in which he discusses the guy who is currently in charge. Thanks to the people who posted it.

Mark Weber is one of my favorite people in the world, and I enjoy getting his insight whenever I can. I think what is telling about what he had to say is the pronouns that he used. Sentences like “he is helping us” are telling and reveal what I already knew, that Mark isn’t a former brand manager who is a fan, but he’s a fan who happened to have been given the opportunity to be the brand manager.

In this context, when Mark says that he is happy that Maher is in charge, that fills me with confidence and lets me believe that there are going to be some really good things coming in the near future.

This is especially annoying to me because the Fang was basically the one vehicle I missed out on in the 25th era and I was pretty happy to have the chance to finally fill that gap. I don't MIND the new one as such, but... wasn't the old version just fine?

(If anyone has a Fang they want to dump, hit me up I guess...)

As for the figure... yeah, very Corps / True Heroes ish in its feel. The hands especially are something of a giveaway in that regard - I've seen more than a few Corps figs that would be acceptable as modern Joes if it weren't for the ugly hands, and this one carries on that look.

It could very well be that Hasbro simply doesn't have people on this project who have the knowledge as to what looks "right" for 4" figs yet. That might come with time.
