I know you don't want to hear this, but that's most likely a false memory. He Man toys sold out quick the first year but were still listed in all the product catalogs, so lots of kids wanted them and couldn't find them in stores. And there is absolutely no way you got a catalog with He Man stuff in it from a GI Joe toy.

So after all this speculating, is there a general consensus as to what these are exactly?

O-ring updates of the originals. This theory is due to the Star Wars retro collection, and the 13 dollar price tag per figure. If they were modern the figures would probably be cheaper due to parts used to make modern figures being cheaper to produce.

This is what I think too. It's disappointing. I really would like it to be a modern line of 3.75" to complement the Classified.

Star Wars has a nice line of 3.75" black series figures that goes with the 6" line. That's why I was hopeful. But the Walmart-only status and some of the other evidence, really points to O-rings.

Not sure if I am understanding what you are saying though. I have some of the 1/18 black series figs, and they look good because they have the regular SW look to them, which is also how 6in BS figures look. |

If you are saying you would like 3.75in classified figures I have to disagree. I think the classified figures will be ok as their own thing, but I would really be disappointed if they were also in 3.75in.

I want a continuation of the modern line of Joes in 3.75" form. I don't want 3.75" Classified styled figures. I was just saying that Star Wars has continued to have 3.75" figures and 6" figures at the same time and I was hoping that was what "retro" meant for Joes: Modern GI Joes in ARAH styling in the 3.75" scale. But I think it probably means O-ring, vintage-style figures, which I have no interest in.
