My WM actually had probably a dozen Hiss Tanks on the shelf and above it. Nothing else besides the Jada figurines.

What is interesting is the WM in the next town about 20 minutes from me only has Awe Strikers apparently. No WM here or anywhere else in my range on Brickseek have any figures in stock just vehicles.

My understanding from some rumors and other stories is that there was a bit of a fuss made about how Walmart.com handled some Star Wars and Ghostbusters preorders and that lead to the whole creation of that collectible subsite that we all used to order the Retro figures day one. It doesn't seem to have helped much.
Weirdly, Target did the same thing shortly after Cobra Island launched, but their collectible subpage is even less developed. I don't understand why preordering is such a hard concept, but whatever. I'm only sort of collecting Retro, Siege/Earthrise/Kingdom Transformers and Black Series. My main interests now are Classified and Masterpiece TFers and Walmart isn't involved in any of that (although, sadly, Target is). Back to Retro, maybe Hasbro should handle the backend of the Fanfest logistics for WM. But then again, they are a large company and they have communication and execution issues of their own. Does Joe have its own brand manager yet? |

I only started pre-ordering items with the Classified figures. Previously it had been about fifteen years since I pre-ordered any kind of toys. However, back then, I would pre-order something and always received it without fear of it never being received and always received it before the stores had said items on their shelves. I blows my mind we have how many people, even just on this forum, pre-ordering items and then having the pre-orders canceled by the stores after the items are on the shelves and sold out. It just makes no sense at all. I do not get many SW Black Series figures but I am encountering it again with the Clone Wars Black Series Ashoka and a Clone Wars Mandalorian figure. I was able to pre-order each on Wal-mart, there they sit pending. Yet this week I keep seeing videos and post of people getting the in store. It just does not make sense. I do not understand why pre-ordering is so hard to understand either. A pre-order is the ability to securely acquire an item before it is released in general with confidence you will receive said item.

Things can get better for sure. But I don't think anything has fundamentally changed at Walmart since Retro W1. If Star Wars and Transformers are to be believed, they still treat preorders just about the same as they have for the last year plus.
They would need to re-design their entire preorder system to get better. People thought that they had done that when Retro wave 1 (and all those other Walmart exclusives) were announced. But that obviously didn't happen.

I hope they show off W3 Duke, CC, and Puma. I guess there was a Joefan Friday today, but they just talked about some of the artists behind the Classified boxes. When are we going to see more product? We all know it won't matter if WM can do pre-orders of it, so just go ahead and show it!!!

Yeah! I'm sick of empty pegs. Walmart, Target and Meijer act like toys are not important.
