A new super detailed WHALE like the Razorcrest in HasLab now and I would be in for. Make it larger than the original with all sorts of details and playability and such. Maybe more like a small LCAC and have the add ons be a couple small 4 man polaris fighting vehicles and a removable troop area that fits in the rear that could be taken off and used a FOB as well. So if that was gone - you could transport tanks and such. But with the troop FOB on the deck then only the 2 polaris (or RAM cycles, or VAMPs or AWE Striker) fit in front for a 8 man insertion team....

I've been to 3 different WM in the past week, where their app says they have 6 items left in stock for the Retro figures. I go in, and I have them scan the tag, or one of the UPC's posted on here, and their thing says there are 6 on the floor. I ask, where are they, and they said it was just bought, or there is a stocking error. The problem, is that I have found one of these figures when it says 1 in stock, and within 5 minutes of me checking out, the app says out of stock. I don't think anyone just bought these figures. I think, that the case was just put aside for some employee to buy later. It just drives me nuts, as some of these WM's are way out of the way.

I would love a new WHALE, but I have little confidence in the current Joe team at Hasbro, that they would knock it out of the park, like the SW team has done with the Razorcrest. The new Fang build, new Fang pilot build, choice of parts for RB and Scarlett, the defective hips on the Hiss driver, the different FC size for these figures, and the lack of Joe knowledge shown on the Fan First Fridays, just show me that this team has no heart in the Retro line. What makes you think they could make a WHALE that would wow us? They would just give us a pontoon boat.

I don't get the feeling AT ALL that the Joe line manager or designers aren't invested in both Retro and Classified. YMMV but they seem very enthusiastic, supportive and knowledgeable about the line.

What Pulse video did you watch?

The one I saw during Pulse Con had Mark seem as though he had never seen a G.I. Joe figure before (again).

The only one on the panel that seemed to have much enthusiasm was the sculptor. And, frankly, Classified figures are incredibly well put together -- much better, I think, than Legends or Black Series figures.

Can we talk about the Fang pilot a bit? At pulse con, they said he’s all new tooling, which appears true (some have suggested he uses MU parts, but that doesn’t appear to be the case). But it seems he has a thigh cut and NO leg screw. So the build appears to have MU style hips. Does it make sense to tool a new figure on a new platform? Seems like that would be a sign that more newly tooled figures are coming. But at the same time, if that’s an investment being made- why use it on a troop builder drive and not a marquee character like Scarlett? Time constraints, maybe (Scarlett is out now, fang won’t be out until next year)

Thoughts? Incites, even?

If you get a manager involved they have the option to correct the error or make the employees go get them from the back. YMMV based on store culture. I had this done with some pool supplies that kept showing in-stock but were in store only items. It helped that many people were making special trips and complaining that they could not find them even though the store shows them in-stock. Better chances to get this done if you go during off-peak hours and early in shifts.

I think they are gung-ho when it comes to Classified, but I think they are not trying very hard when it comes to the Retro line. I get this feeling due to all the mistakes and missed opportunities that are present with the Retro line. If you watch the videos, you will see that the mustache, who is the presenter of this line (and therefore we assume is in charge of making this line), doesn't seem to know much about these Retro figures. When he says stuff like "The Retro RB has just as much articulation as the Classified figures," and he has single joint knees, and no ankle articulation, you can see why most die-hard Joe fans have little confidence in him. When you have the Hector Garrido art in the halls of your office, and you can't select the correct head for SE to make it match the art, or select the correct figure build for SS to match the art, then you just aren't putting much effort into your work.

I could go on and on about the flaws and missed opportunities when it comes to this line, but I'll try to stay positive and keep my hopes up that W3 will have a Duke using 50th Flint's build, Ren Duke or 50th Duke's head, and the 25th Duke bandolier, painted in V1 Duke colors. Hopefully W3 CC will be the Ret. CC build with the hooded head, painted in V2 colors. Hopefully, they won't mess up those figures. (I'm posting the recipes again in case the mustache needs some help with what a lot of fans want.)
