I thought I posted this yesterday but apparently closed out Google before hitting Post.
Have any of you zoomed in on the picture of the FANG Pilot. This is supposed to be a all-new sculpt. It looks to have swivel thighs and calves/boots, and the feet just look chunky. With all the word about Jazzwares, it really does remind me of a Fortnite action figure. The helmet looks very similar to the 6" Classified Cobra Trooper helmet. So, IMHO, it looks like they are really trying to blend the lines in terms of style. Both Scarlett and Roadblock look like good starts, but will need some customizing. That Roadblock head just doesn't do it for me. It doesn't "Speak Wonder" (which seems to be the Mustache's catch phrase), it speaks to me as Mack from Marvel's Agents of Shield and looks like a totally new character. At least Scarlett's hair is not as glossy as the production photos. I was able to pre-order all 4 yesterday, but if I happen to find Scarlett and Roadblock in stores, I'll pick them up for custom fodder. Hasbro better step it up with wave 3 because I've been contemplating making the switch to MTF for all my G.I. Joe customizing and so far Hasbro isn't doing much to keep me as a customer. Jason |

I've never been a fan of ARAH Scarlett. I always thought her outfit looked like a gymnastics suit with boots. That's why my favorite Joe femme is Lady Jaye since she has more of a military-looking uniform.

I took a zoomed-in look at the Fang pilot photos today. It looks to me like the web gear is separate from the torso, not molded on. The thigh cuts appear to be functional. I'm just about certain that mask is part of the head. The wrists appear to be swivel-hinged. I get the impression that the waist swivels. I have no guesses as to whether or not there is a chest cut and articulation there. It might use the 50th Falcon approach where there is a swivel waist and a chest cut as well. I'm not a fan of that but that would still be better than just a swivel waist. I loathe rocker ankles but I know most of you feel differently on that score. Overall...meh. Assuming that the vest is removable and the torso is articulated then at best the figure is torso and head fodder from what I can see. The arms and legs are weirdly shaped and the hands look out of proportion. Maybe the knees could be used. I would like the upper legs just fine except that they shrink oddly at the top, presumably to try to mask the thigh swivel by making a round cross-section. That doesn't look right.
I'm really not impressed at all with the Fang itself and after closer inspection I think it has everything to do with the truncated rear end. The Chap Mei and Corps! comparison is apt. This was a bad move. I think I'm going to cancel that part of my pre-order. Clearer heads have prevailed.

And they kept coming in and out of stock for several weeks after that. There was even a day around the release of Cobra Island that AWE Strikers were easy to get. Also, keep in mind that Walmart has yet to really ship any of these preorders so who knows if they are worth anything.

The first wave, outside of the Awe Striker, was available pretty much all day that Friday they were revealed. Baroness popped in and out of stock the most, but you could get anything other than the AWE that you wanted.

I have 2 FANGs pre-ordered and am still on the fence. Just baffling design decisions. Change where change wasn't warranted or needed.
As enthusiastic as this Joe team is at Hasbro, they're missing the mark with the Retro line thus far. I hope the course can be corrected in time. |

Dancing is now referred to as "peaceful protesting", pizza by the slice disappeared because people yell at you while you're eating your dinner ( pizza is a privilege, mind you), and paper currency/tp are one and the same. Stimulus poops.
Also, I'm not convinced Target is still a thing, I think they were all peacefully protested to the ground.

True, but I meant none of the new wave has gone "out of stock" at all. Like you said, the first wave went in and out of stock numerous times for weeks. Either Walmart really ordered large for this new wave and set the "on hand" amounts for the online store accordingly or people aren't buying as ravenously. I personally think a lot of folks aren't worried about the preorder this time and are checking stores first, and I also suspect buyers are split more than we realize between 3.75" and 6". Regardless, I'm definitely jumping the gun. haha
