I think where the overall designs are lazy is not focusing on being true to the individual characters and instead taking way too much inspiration from video games like Fortnite. Why the hell would Duke, Roadblock, and Gungho all be wearing the same metal shin guards? Just fucking stupid. The weapons/accessories are lazy too - especially with almost all of the guns just being shrunk down NERF guns.

As for the sculpts - I think all of the face sculpts are outright terrible.

The whole line is being run poorly. This 3.75" line is lazy and missing the mark on almost every figure in some way. Even the case assortments are clueless. Everyone who used to work on the Joe brand at Hasbro could do a better job and most longtime fans could put together better figures as well.

Even the SDCC Joe item shows extreme thoughtlessness. Every other Hasbro brand has pulled something deep from the canon for the SDCC item that could get longtime fans excited. Only the Joe SDCC figure has made up a ridiculous-looking piece of junk with no connection to the brand's history.
I see some of your points. I kind of agree in a way. When it comes to G.I. Joe, Hasbro doesn't invest the same effort in the brand as others like Marvel, Star Wars and Transformers. I just wish something like a major cartoon or a big film could pus it back into the limelight so that enough resources can go towards both a 6" and 3.75" line without one being in sacrifice of the other. Right now it appears the 3.75" Walmart exclusive line has to take a backseat because the Classified line is being made available to more retailers and there's a video game tie in to it.

Jedi my ass......

That said....I find them to be hit or miss. I think the Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Cobra Trooper, and Baroness figures are outstanding. The only two so far that I haven't liked are Scarlett and RoadBlock V1.

The classified line sure is doing well considering "majority of longtime collectors online think it and every longtime collector I know locally thinks..." .

Hi fellow Joe collectors. I'm new to the boards. I had a big collection of Joes as a kid but gave them away when I was a teenager. I recently saw the retro line because I started getting the star wars retro line. It has me excited to acquire some GiJoe toys in the original looking packaging and with the old style look. I wish they were the Oring type but don't mind the new look and detail in the taller figures.

Anyway I've gone to Walmart a couple of times to look for the figures and there's nothing. No GiJoe, no StarWars, just a couple wrestling figures. It's very different from what I remember as a kid. Going through racks of figures to find the one I needed or wanted. And it only being in Walmart is a hassle since there isn't one nearby. Is this just the state of things? Target seems a little better but isn't carrying the retro joes. I've kind of resigned myself to just going online but I'm a little bummed that I can't walk down an aisle and pick out the figures and vehicles I'm excited about. I can see why my kids aren't into action figures at all. Trying to get what you want seems like a horrible experience.

Lots of great info in this thread. Looking forward to more waves and more vehicles hopefully. Thanks.

Welcome man and yes, you just find out the crude reality of hunting for toys in this case GI Joe today... The distribution is been very random plus when a store get them, fellow Joe fans comes and get them fast so for the next group of fans there is nothing up for grabs...
Today we have to relay more on eBay or other retailers online to get what we want...

Welcome to the Tank! Hopefully distribution picks up some and it gets a bit easier to find things at retail, but sadly modern collecting has turned hunting into a major uphill battle. With luck tue second wave and on will get a bit easier to locate and we get a few more vehicles. The Firebat and Skyhawk, Ghosthawk now I suppose, seem like easy choices to make again since they were updated for the 25th.

The Walmart’s I’ve checked in my area haven’t had any 3 3/4 retro figures yet and the only 6” figure is a roadblock in one store and he’s sit there for at least 5 weeks. Poor guy, every time I go there he is all alone and I even thought I saw a tear in his little plastic eye. He’s in the South Hill Walmart if you’re in the area stop by and visit with roadblock in the toy version of a nursing home.

Don’t think Lenny’s hands are on the 4”; seems like that is Mustache’s game.
I'm sure Lenny is a fine fellow and designer. For my part I don't care for the 6" figure designs at all. Many Youtube channels that I follow have come to the same conclusion as have many here. I do hope the line sells well for the brand's sake but so far only Destro appealed to me. In hand it felt flat. I also don't think 6" is a good scale for Joes but the designs were what deterred me. Just my humble opinion of course and not offense directed at Lenny.
