Will be getting at least 2 of each. Not sure if they are as good fodder material as the W1 SE, but one to open and one to keep MOC is pretty sweet.
TY Mustache man! You can do even better in the next Wave! It can't rain all the time. Last edited by Adventure Fun; 09-14-2020 at 07:29 PM.. |

I just got the retro snake eyes in the mail. They sure didnt put a lot of thought into the line did they. The art looks off centered on the card as well. The figure itself is cool as the 50th one but they should have just re released the 25th line with maybe a few small updates but kept everything else the same.
I get the feeling that Retro is going to become our Vintage Collection. It will play it safe focusing on previously released product. Though, given wave 2 at least features remixed parts, it might not be AS BAD as TVC. If Hasbro selects good options, there could be some life in the line given the apparent unending desire to get stuff on vintage-ish card backs.

Hell, just using the commando head in the SAME TOOLING would have been enough, but they STILL managed to screw that up.

There's hope for Retro aka GI Joe's TVC to build momentum and see increases in budgets over time. Gotta be vocal and let the Joe team know that we want some all-new tools if the sales and retail interest support it. TVC fans are VERY vocal and based on the direction of the line have been heard.

Can anyone put the Scarlett Webgear on the Female Cobra Officer to see how it fits. It may look really cool.

Scarlett looks cool overall. I think she'd look better with the proper gloves.
Roadblock looks good overall too even though he doesn't match the card art. Destro looks cool too. |

I totally forgot that I put this build together before ( minus the gloves and head). I guess it's not so bad:
Here's a new Dreadnok: Catwalk She was a high fashion model that got tired of feeling exploited in her line of work. She decided to use her looks and wild behavior to take advantage of the modeling industry. From stealing photography equipment to holding a fashion magazine executive hostage for a healthy ransom, her devious actions were recognized by the Dreadnoks. She was brought into the fold, and now is one of the most dangerous in the gang. She truly has Looks that Kill!!!

I think Wave 2 is great. Not perfect, but an improvement on Wave 1.
There was a lot of speculation as to whether Hasbro could use tooling paid for by the club. I think the new head on RB answers that they cannot. Not having another suitable headsculpt in the catalog they made one that matched Classified rather than try and make a classic like the club already released. Makes sense. When the 50th female Cobra Officer was released I heavily criticized the torso sculpt. This was some of the first tooling not done by BFS sculptors and it showed. That said, it works really well for Scarlett. Since they used that torso that likely meant had to use the same arms. I appreciate that made new gloved hands (way better than the originals hands) - but that also meant they could do the classic long glove for her with the pre-existing forearms. The new head look's great - I think it's best modern Scarlett head we've gotten. The resolute legs give a taste of just how good the Resolute body would look in classic colors - but I'm fine overall with what's coming. Destro isn't a total waste as it might appear - the grey on the belt / boots is the Sunbow colors. I loved when they released the Sunbow colors during 25th in the DVD Battle Pack (https://www.yojoe.com/action/08/destro18.shtml). I'm glad to have it now on the 50th sculpt. All in all really happy and looking forward to what comes next. |
