I still think GI Joe hasn't been that bad, except for the Cobra Island figures (Troopers and Baroness in particular). Wave 1 and Wave 2 weren't hard to preorder.

If Walmart ships the Retro preorders (a big if, I know), then I don't think Retro will be that rare either. Those things were up for preorder for a while and they've come back into stock repeatedly for preorder over the last month.

Cobra Island has been miserable. And the Retro stuff releasing early in some Walmarts has made it seem like it will be a tough exclusive too. But over all, GI Joe collecting isn't that terrible.

So the Walmart nearest me just completed a new floor set in the toy section and there are no pegs or shelf space for Joes at all. The whole toy section is pretty poorly stocked, which I assume is a combination of distribution issues and shortages from the factories for a lot of lines.

The Walmarts here are the same way here except for a ton of Transformers on the shelves and aisle displays. I don’t even see that the WM near me is even planning on having the Retro line at the store. They aren’t keeping Classified Joes on the pegs either right now.

Every Walmart near me has nearly empty action figure walls. My ex-wife works at one of them and she said the stock team is always behind on getting toys out because they are short-staffed and the store prioritizes other departments. But yeah, I don't think they get much delivered either. I'm having a hell of a time tracking down the new MOTU figures. I'm glad I got my retro figures pre-ordered.

Odd question, but have any of you seen Christmas decor or stuff at your Walmarts yet? We usually have the garden center and seasonal aisle hf full by August 1st, but as is there is none here. They only started putting out half a zeasonalnaisle of Halloween/fall stuff tbis week here. Almost feels like they are already writing off the holiday seasons and just focusing on day to day essential supplies.

I went to my local Walmart yesterday. They have empty pegs for the Classified figures but nothing for Retro. I asked the lady in toys to see if she had anything in the back. She scanned the barcode and she said shows a shipment coming in on the 28th plus some other GI Joe items. Mmmmmmm....

Looks like I'll be checking things out tomorrow.

6 at a time is overkill. Leave some for the next collector. Or heaven forbid the next generation that hasn’t ever seen G.I. Joe before and could keep this line alive for another 25 years. But as long as some shut in can cut up 6 copies and make a kindergarten macaroni plate piece of “custom” art, who am I to argue.
