Both. You can pre-order now (when they get back in stock), and they will be available in the stores when they start selling them. Probably around October 1st.

We found out about the Retro line thanks to store shipments arriving; they'll be available at retail.

as someone whose only current joe is star brigade roadblock i picked up as a kid I welcome these! missed out on the anniversary lines due to lack of disposable income or focussing on other lines so this is my way to finally get a joe collection.
All that said the walmart exclusivity means as a resident of scotland ill be paying through the nose...unless my hunch is correct and the international packaging means its a timed exclusive like the motu origins fgures! after all why have multiple languages on packaging exclusive to an american only store? |

I can't cite an article (so my confidence might be unwarranted) but unless I'm mistaken only Walmart.com had the Retro listings for order and not Walmart.ca, despite the initial product shipments arriving at Canada. Couple that with the ridonkulously multilingual packaging, and you've got yourself a product intended for very wide distribution...

I cant speak to production numbers, and I don't recall if folks has a hard time finding it at Target. It was a Target exclusive and the shelves weren't as empty back then. I recall looking it up on Target's website, finding one of 3 local Target's had them in stock. Drove over and grabbed one. No problem. They had a few there. It's possible that it was difficult to grab country wide, or maybe folks were being picky and refrained from grabbing it only to regret it later. Over all i think it's safe to assume that the 25th stuff was produced in much lower numbers than the vintage. The landing gear, engine covers, and VTOL feature on the vintage guy was fragile. I had it, and just restored it. I think the reissue had those issues fixed, but I just decaled it and stored it away, so I couldn't really say. I may pull it out later and hit you back on that. Plus the Rattler is pure awesome. GI Joe has a couple cool tanks and a Cobra antitank fighter is a great addition. I LOVE the A-10 and like to see Cobra get some good stuff once in a while. But if the after market prices are that high it would be a good candidate for a rerelease in this vintage box line.

My experience: The 25th large vehicles sold ok but not great, then sat for a while. Then went clearance and Rattlers were gone in a snap. I can practically guarantee they were made in smaller numbers + the issues fixed assured a popular release. I can't wait to own one in a vintage repro box--even if they change it slightly.
Are the vintage Rattler bodies useable at all with the tail section messed up? Can the pieces be separated without breaking? Last edited by Mega Convoy; 07-19-2020 at 05:24 PM.. |

Hasbro, I always wanted 3! Release that bad boy with the CV Stinger Driver and watch them sell!

I'm thinking the Stinger may have always been one of those fairly hot vehicles, even in vintage. For some reason I never had one, and I had most of the "small to midsize" vehicles back in the day. Probably my parents way of saying "no way in hell will you ever get a Flagg"
