Well, everything is now basically sold out for all of Hasbro's brands. It took a little over 24 hours.
I think Walmart has to consider this a success, despite their own attempts to botch it. Hopefully next time, they will allocate more stuff to the online portion of the sale or just make enough to satisfy demand (a novel concept that toymakers seem completely oblivious about; if you put these collectible figures online, available to everyone, you will sell them out).

This line is "retro" to me in the same way TVC is "vintage" for Star Wars. It's about the packaging and presentation.
Hasbro should have just called it GI Joe: The Vintage Collection since there's already a precedent for what this line has the potential to become. Calling it "Retro", and they did call it that on the Live Stream, when the Star Wars "Retro" are vintage repros only confuses the market. |

My biggest hope with the style of this line is that we get ARAH deco of a few characters that we did not get in the 50th Line. My gut tells me that we will.
The SDCC Flint build is one that would be nice to see on a classic card. It’s been enough time now that they should be able to do that. Resolute type build for Scarlett in classic colors (with hopefully new or improved head) 50th parts Duke Club Roadblock in ARAH Deco Dusty on a classic card 50th parts Footloose I doubt they go farther than 85 but if they do It would be great to see Dial Tone get an upgrade. There are a ton of Factory repaint/Kitbashes that could be epic. I fully respect anyone who wanted or expected O-Ring. I hope everything Joe succeeds and we see that someday. My advice is support the brand if you want that. Yes, that means buying 6” as well. If you truly want the Joe brand to succeed, support it in every way!!! Yo Joe!!!

The brand has pretty good support so far. Most everything available online is selling out.

The best part of all of this is watching the figures popping up on eBay at $40+ each, moments after they went live. I hope those scalpers get stuck with tons of leftover stock.

At least wait until the scalper has the product in hand. You never know what prices will do in the meantime (they usually go down for stuff like this as more inventory becomes available).

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but anything made after the 1990's is not classified as "retro" yet. Anything before that period is considered "vintage". And at some point (probably when some of us are using walkers), they'll be antiques. Maybe we can call this The Kitbash Collection. That's more accurate. GI Joe: The Vintage Collection sounds great and all...until you have to weed through that to find true vintage. Been there done that with Star Wars.
