That is an interesting thought for sure. I do think the o-ring figures from 2000 found a much more forgivable plastic but at the expense of paint applications. At this point though if Hasbro is going to be charging 12.93 for a single figure I hope they have something up their sleeve - whether its a retooled o-ring figure or very well done 4 inch retro figure. They have had 20 years to experiment with different plastics, designs and molds. If these are in fact $12.93 figures they need to have a lot of attention to detail - paint apps, design, construction and durability thought through.

They could retool the forearms easy enough to accept the flexible hands. I’m sure their is a material that’s durable & flexible that can replace the O-ring/ leg hook without needing any retools of waists & torsos.

They actually have/had a ton during the newsculpt era, at least. Frag/Night/Range/Flak/Heat/SAW/Ice to name a few Vipers, Snow serpents, Stretcher, Beachhead, Flint, Tunnel Rat, Jinx, everything from the RAHC, and that's still leaving out quite a few. There's definitely enough to get a good start and gauge the viability of it, and then if it works out, they could always start experimenting with some new molds as the did with the heads when the Comic Packs first came out.

That's not a bad idea, as long as it was something easily replaced if it DID break... If it weren't for how easliy repaired ARAH figures are, we'd have a much smaller secondary market. heck, even just finding a way to reinforce the o-rings might work. Plastics have come a long way since ARAH.

Why do people want the "New Sculpt" figures? I thought that era was the least favorite among Joe fans? You can still find them cheap on eBay. They are to the ARAH vintage O-ring figures what the 25th figs are to the POC/30th/Ren/Ret/50th figures.

really doubt they are going back to 'o-rings' again seem very foolish to produce a line of figures with inferior tech and then charge 13$ for them.

retro as in all classic apparences but using the build tech avaliable today.

What's so bad about the o-rings? I remember the Sgt Savage figures with no o-rings looked good but the mobility was like a He-man figure on the waist...

I agree with you!

New sculpt era figures would be a sure way to kill the brand.
